And here’s another Chanel collection for us to get to know tonight, this is Chanel’s Noirs Obscurs collection. Dark hues are back this season and MAC is not the only line that knows it. Chanel’s Global Create Director Peter Philips created a collection to pay tribute to black with on trend eye, lip and nail shades that uncover the many nuances and undertones of this iconic shade. When worn together, the shades in this collection are definitely daring, but wearing them solely on the eye, lips or nails may be more of your cup of tea. You can find this collection on counters now.
The shades in this Noirs Obscurs collection are bold and adventurous. They are far from the playing-it-safe rose and mauve shades we all know and own several of. These shades are much, much darker. This years limited edition shades include Maniac, Hysteria and Obscure. Want to know what these look like on? Check out Temptalia’s swatches.
For eyes, Chanel has release the limited edition Quatuor Boutons de Chanel Quadra Eye Shadow. This quad is good in theory but in application, it is not quite what I expected. I expected rich deep green, mahogany, midnight blue and dark violet eyeshadows that were packed with pigment. That’s not what I found when I swatched these shades for the first time, the pigment could have been richer but if applied wet, the shadow does become more intense.
Also part of this collection are Chanel’s Inimitable Noir Obscur Multi-Dimensionnel and Exceptionnel de Chanel Noir Obscur Intense Volume and Curl Mascaras in a new more intense and extreme black shade for a more dramatic lash effect.
Now for my favorite part of Chanel’s Noirs Obscurs collection… the nails. I look forward to every Chanel nail color and this release did not disappoint me. It includes the dark and vampy nail colors that I love to wear. The shades in this collection are Forbidden (a deep brown red), Vendetta (a deep shimmering purple) and Diabolic (a deep blood red). You may recognize Vendetta from when the shade made its first appearance earlier this year when it was apart of Chanel’s Spring collection. Personally, I’m not so into Vendetta (plus I still have it from the when it was first introduced) but Forbidden and Diabolic are definitely “Carla” shades. You can check out swatches over at The Beauty Look Book.
