For this week’s Mani Monday, I went with Butter London’s Classic & Bright Nail Polish Trio. QVC asked me if I wanted to join them this month in celebrating #QVCManiMonday and I just couldn’t resist.
This trio retails for $28 plus shipping and handling and includes three full sized Butter London shades in Royal Navy (a rich opaque navy blue), Cheeky Chops (a bright yellow cream) and Teddy Girl (an opaque bubble-gum pink). The formula on each of these shades flows nice and easy onto the nail. Royal Navy is so rich you could almost get away with one coat (which I did in the image below) but the other shades benefit from another coat to nix streaking.
Keep reading to see the look I created plus more information on entering my giveaway so you can get your own trio!

Butter London’s fall collection is a total color clash and I love it. It pushes away those dark, muted shades we normally see in the fall and gives us eye-popping brightness that includes a few shades you just have to get your hands on.
In my book, Giddy Kipper is the one shade I just couldn’t live without. It is a little deceptive, depending on the light you’re in it will lean into a gorgeous indigo blue (as Butter London describes it) and in others it is a rich violet with a gorgeous micro shimmer. While I was at dinner last night, we couldn’t quite agree what shade it really was, I was in the violet camp while everyone else was in the indigo camp. Either way, it is just a gorgeous shade… one that’s graced my nails several times since I’ve picked up this bottle.
Doesn’t Giddy Kipper just look stunning in the sun? It’s quite clearly violet, is it not? 🙂
So what’s on your nails this week? What fall shades are on your radar this fall? Lets hash this out in the comments.
This is a very big week for my family. My sister Vania is getting married on Wednesday in Las Vegas and we are all spending the week there in the sun. In honor of this occasion, I opted for a shade that was outside my usual range and my choice was Butter London’s Two Fingered Salute. What do you think? I’m wearing a bright raspberry dress to the wedding and I’m loving the contrast with the dress and my jewelry.
Normally I am not a fan of copper on my nails but I was in love with Deborah Lippmann’s Ray of Light from the moment I first put it on my nail and I’ve been on the lookout for copper flecks ever since. Now, I’m usually not a fan of greens either but the copper flecks as sage green had me at hello. Unlike Ray of Light, the flecks are super small and give the green a nice gold glow from a distance and great contrast up close. I am now infatuated with this shade, you will be too.
As for the formula, it flowed nicely on the nail and was the perfect consistency making it easy to control as I built on the color. Two coats gave me the color you see here.
So what’s on your nails this week? Let us know in the comments!
Holographic and glitter nail polish loving ladies (and gents if you’re so inclined) of the world, I think you will be happy with the new Butter London Autumn/Winter 2012 collection. Butter London has been embracing glitter for awhile but now they are also embracing the holographic trend and getting aboard the holographic train. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think this is the first time Butter London introduced holographic shades… or at least labeled one as such.
Here’s the scoop on each shade straight from Butter London:
- Dodgy Barnett – highly holographic shade that blurs the line between grey and silver.
- Gobsmacked – heavily pigmented charcoal grey glitter with a slightly textured finish.
- Lovely Jubbly – vibrant magenta flecked with red, blue and gold micro particles.
- Shag – high-shine metallic lacquer in a warm orange-burgundy hue.
- Trustafarian – golden holographic finish gives this delightful sage green a surprising and sophisticated edge.
Keep reading to take a closer look at each shade.

A tale of two Product Girls on Valentine’s Day, via our mani choices. One single and the other approaching five years of marriage. Both polish lovers. Can’t get enough of cheeky product names, especially when they help tell a story. With that, here’s a very special edition of Mani Monday!
Butter LONDON’s Come to Bed Red is a cherry red that reminds me of cinnamon red hots. It’s a little spicy, and definitely a sexy shade. But what I love about it is that the name reminds me of one of my favorite songs ever, John Mayer’s Come Back to Bed. In my 365/24/7 fantasy, John Mayer is singing this to me. But fantasties? Are just that. I’ll be spending my Valentine’s Day with my adorable husband and Boston Terrier. He happens to be very aware and understanding of above obsession.
I’m coming off a long weekend in Florida with my girls and as soon as I touch down in Chicago I am heading to a hair appointment. I can’t think of any better way to spend the day! Girl time, hair appointment, wine – now that’s what I call love. As a single lady on this romantic holiday, I’ve chosen to wear Essie’s Sugar Daddy – a sheer, understated pink that doesn’t scream “I’M IN LOVE!” And let’s be honest, what girl doesn’t secretly wish she had a sugar daddy every now and then? Sugar Daddy is a nice change-up from the bold reds and bright pinks I’m known to wear, I feel very grown-up and polished.
With love, Emily
What are you guys up to this Valentine’s Day? And what are you doing with your nails? Sexy red or demure pink?
Wardrobe malfunctions, botched Black Eyed Peas songs, talking babies and men in tights – yep, Super Bowl Sunday is just a couple days away. Can’t decide who to root for but still want to dress for the occasion? Lucky for you the New York Giants and New England Patriots have nearly identical team colors so you can still be in spirit without choosing sides. Check out my style picks for the most watched TV event of the year and if in doubt, stick to reds and blues. I guarantee no one will know you’re only at their viewing party for the beer and halftime show.
I’m lucky enough to be heading to Indianapolis for the game this weekend and I don’t know which performance I’m most looking forward to – Tom Brady’s or Madonna’s. Either way, I can’t wait! Will you be watching the game (or at the very least the commercials) this Sunday?

I’m channeling the beach this week, with butter LONDON’s vibrant teal Slapper, part of the spring/summer 2012 collection. Slapper is this awesome color that looks turquoise in the sun and green in dim lighting. It’s bold and bright, and I totally love it. If you’re looking to inject some bright color into your winter wardrobe, Slapper makes a great accessory. This will also be one of those staple nail colors for me come June. I stopped by Ulta this weekend, and saw the spring butter LONDON shades in the display. However, they were 100% sold out. Looks like everyone is thinking the same thing!
What are you wearing on your nails this week? And, are you as frustrated with the state of your cuticles as I am with mine? I’m going to slather them in hand salve every hour on the hour. It’s a dire situation.
butterLONDON Creative Director Nonie Creme put together quite the lineup for Spring/Summer 2012. Isn’t it pretty? I’m totally loving that vibrant turquoise and how it lives in the same collection with gorgeous pastels and a glittery pink. Here’s the color story…
Bossy Boots – Light, opaque pistachio green. A beautiful take on neutral for this season, don’t you think?
Disco Biscuit – Tropical hot pink with an undercurrent of tiny iridescent glitter particles
Knackered – A sheer, twinkling oyster shade flecked with micro glitter particles.
Slapper – A true teal lacquer. Bold and very bright.
Trout Pout – An opaque shade of cantaloupe. Pale and retro.
These shades will available at the end of the month. What do you think? Anything that might complete your spring look?
