High up on my list of beauty lemmings is the new NARS Radiant Cream Compact Foundation. For years now I’ve been all about powder foundations but as I get older and my skin needs a little more camouflage before I leave the house, I’ve started to admit that cream (or liquid) foundations are where it’s at for me right now. This new foundation is tempting because it claims to have the feel of a cream but with the buildable, lightweight coverage of a liquid.
Here’s what NARS has to say about Radiant Cream Compact Foundation:
Available in an extremely extensive collection of 20 shades, this lightweight formula combines the supple feel of a cream compact with the weightless coverage of a liquid foundation. It is portable, buildable, and sets in seconds; the formula also features our Advanced Emulsion Technology, allowing for a wet or dry application. Expanding its foundation lineup, NARS introduces Radiant Cream Compact Foundation. This lightweight formula combines the supple feel of a cream foundation with the weightless coverage of liquid makeup for a truly glowing complexion.
Enriched with the NARS exclusive Advanced Emulsion Technology, the velvety cream formula blends seamlessly and uniquely allows for the modern artistic versatility of a wet or dry application. The buildable formula delivers medium to full coverage and sets in seconds, leaving skin soft, smooth, and glowing — all with the ease of a portable compact.
With so much newness, you would think NARS would be done surprising us for the season but low and behold, next month NARS is introducing their new Eye Paint.
Housed in a brilliant pot of high-impact pigment, this versatile product can be used as both an eyeshadow and eyeliner. The innovative weightless gel formula delivers long-lasting color that glides on smooth and dries down quickly. When used as eyeliner, pair with the new Angled Eyeliner Brush #38 for a perfectly defined eye.
Comes in 10 shades for a full range of artistry. Ophthalmologist Tested.

You go to bed at night and everything is normal then you wake up and everyone is talking about Beyonce’s new pixie haircut. Personally, I wouldn’t have the confidence to rock this do but I am firmly of the opinion that Queen Bey can rock anything she damn well wants to.
The team credited with the honors is stylist Neal Farinah and Rita Hazan created Beyonce’s color. Rita states,”Beyonce’s new look is modern and old Hollywood at the same time, and makes such a statement. We wanted the color to be soft and sexy so I chose to highlight her hair with champaign and summer blonde tones. By strategically highlighting her whole head in very tiny sections, we achieved the perfect look.”
I’m loving this new look, how about you? Lets hash this out in the comments. 😉
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Zyrtec for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
I use to think I was immune to allergies but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve had to face the cold, hard facts that I really am not immune to it anymore. My eyes get watery and red then my nose gets runny and suddenly I have Allergy Face. I learned I’m not alone, a whopping 96% of women suffer from allergies. Here are a few other interesting facts I wanted to share:
Lip balm is the ultimate beauty gateway drug. You start out with lip balm, picking up every flavor imaginable along the way. Banana lip balm? Check. Chocolate lip balm? Double check. Then you start picking up tinted lip balms here and there and before you know it, you have 25 tinted balms that all give you the perfect “YLBB” (your lips but better) look because you can’t help yourself. The last stop on this lip balm train is exfoliation. You can wear lip balm all damn day, it still doesn’t mean you’ll have smooth, baby soft lips. You need a little help to get you there and these exfoliators are just what you need. Honestly, I still get a little giddy when I see a new one come out. I have to have it! I’m so obsessed, I’ve started making my own for fun, I’m a nerd. 😉
With all of that said, there’s a line that completely understands our obsession with lip balm and lips in general; For Goodness Grape. Lisa, aka the Lip Balm Queen and founder, created the line because she loves lip balm and is passionate about natural ingredients. She started out on Etsy and sold over 8,000 items there but wanted to reach more people so she started her own website. Her Lip Survival Collection for Healthy Lips is a great way to see what For Goodness Grape is all about.
I love gel manicures oh so, so, so much but I have to admit that they are not the best thing for my nails. I love the coat of armor they give my nails, and of course the zero-dry time. Being an impatient gal, not having to sit around and wait for my nails to try is a huge plus. Not to mention the 2-weeks and then some wear time. It is a bit of a vicious cycle because I remove my mani, my nails are left a little thin and weak but then I want to run out and get another gel mani just to make up for it. Am I alone here?
When I first started reading about the new CND Vinylux line, I was instantly on board. It is their new line of longer wearing nail color that gives you a week of wear and durability without UV/LED lamps. CND actually says the top coat actually toughens over time with increased exposure to light. Added bonus? Practically all your favorite Shellac shades are now available in this formula. There is really nothing to like here, right?
Body Oils have become one of my many new obsessions during my hiatus from Product Girl. I was never a body oil kind of girl, the idea of slathering myself in any kind of oil was completely unappealing… which is odd when I consider how much I love perfume oils! One day I was in a pinch and wanted a big dose of moisture to pamper my skin with and reached for a gift with purchase from the Jo Malone counter, my beloved Nectarine Blossom & Honey in Bath Oil form. I was instantly hooked and wondered why I didn’t try this before. It was one of those “D’oh!” moments. 😉
Besides leaving my skin super soft and glowing, I realized that the scent that lingers on my skin long after the oil has absorbed lasts practically all day. I do not need to layer on any additional scents to get all day wear. I’ve been a hardcore layering girl for some time now so using one product to scent my skin was a revelation. And a nice added bonus? Using a body oil right before bed also scents your linens. I can’t tell you how much I love getting into bed at night now, I lay my head on my pillow and I can smell Amazing Grace on my sheets. Even doctor’s such as Dr. Angelo Cuzalina recommend oils at night because your body has the most time to fully absorb the moisturizing benefits with no chance of having it be washed/wiped off.
The Zoya Stunning Summer 2013 Collection has been in regular nail rotation around Product Girl headquarters lately. While I was away, it sat quietly on my desk just waiting for someone to play with it for the first few weeks. First I noticed a shade missing from the bunch, then another one went missing and before I knew it, the whole collection had disappeared… and with good reason, it is gorgeous. You gals know I love a good creme polish and this whole collection is the embodiment of creme summer hotness in six bottles.
I really love Zoya’s approach to releasing new collections. They usually release 2-part collections, one with cremes and another with metallic or shimmers, whatever is on trend for the coming season. Normally I’m “meh” about metallic shades so I have come to count on Zoya for my creme fix and they delivered once again with Stunning. This collection is a favorite of mine for this season because all six shades are perfect for summer but I can see myself wearing most of these shades throughout the year in one way or another.
As I was trying on this collection, I became inspired to do something I never, ever, ever do… attempt to create some nail art (keep reading to see the look I created). These shades lend themselves so well to this. Darcy, the yellow in this collection, is not a shade I would typically wear on its own but I can see it becoming a staple in my new-found effort to be a nail artiste. 😉
You’ve probably noticed Product Girl hasn’t been updated in a really, really, really long time. Well, that’s going to change soon but in the meantime, I want to tell you a little bit of what has been going on with me and why I stayed away.
Even though I’m not Irish, I got into the St. Patrick’s Day spirit this weekend and painted my nails in green. I went with Sheswai Dig It. After seeing Kelly show off this gorgeous green, I had to have it. I am not a big fan of green in general but this one is so deep and rich that I had to add it to the nail vault.
This was my first Sheswai purchase but it will not be my last, I was really impressed with this formula. The color flowed on to the nail nicely and had the perfect consistency to it. The color leveled out nicely, even when my pursuit of the perfect manicure required that I tend to some nicks here and there. And you can see it is still not perfect, but it is getting better. Most importantly, the coverage I had in a single coat was even, practically full and didn’t streak whatsoever. This is what is convincing me to try more Sheswai shades.
