If there’s one thing that can get us running to the nearest Sephora as fast as possible, it’s the launch of a new Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment. And there’s no exception to the rule with the new Fresh Sugar Berry Tinted Lip Treatment with SPF 15. Fresh Co-Founder Alina Roytberg was inspired by memories of fruit-filled fields while developing Sugar Berry.
“Every summer, a bounty of berries would bloom in my grandparents’ yard in the Ukraine—vines thick with raspberries and branches heavy with blackberries. As a little girl, I would overindulge in the endless harvest! Sugar Berry captures this innocence of youth; its color is as bright and juicy as the wild berries that inspired it,” – Alina Roytberg
It seems like the little sister of Sugar Plum, which means it’s going to be perfect for the fall season!
(If you’re feeling more burgundy than berry, make sure to enter our giveaway of Revlon Black Cherry Lipstick here!)
Once fall hits, I crave a deep lip. I can’t think of a better pairing with the crisp colorful leaves and cooler air, can you? Lucky for me (and you!), a burgundy pout is once again a fall beauty trend. Honestly, of all of the Revlon videos we’ve brought to you this year, the one we’re featuring this month is our absolute favorite. Revlon equipped us with a few products to show you how to wear a burgundy lip. No surprise, this look is all about the lip. The products I used in the video: include:
Revlon Super Lustrous™ Lipstick in Black Cherry (love this classic shade!)
Revlon® ColorStay™ Smoky Shadow Stick in Flare (lilac/smoky plum)
Black Cherry is delicious — it looks like a deep brown burgundy in the tube but goes on much lighter on the lips. It can be more subtle if a slightly stained look is more your style. Or, layer it on and be bold! Make sure to click on the video above and check out how I wear it, along with the lilac side of Revlon Smoky Shadow Stick.
Because we love this product so much, we’re giving away 10 tubes of Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Black Cherry! Leave a comment on this post by Thursday, September 27 and let us know your thoughts on a burgundy lip for fall. We’ll pick 10 winners from there!

It’s been awhile since OPI has captivated my attention the way it has with its new Germany collection. Every color is a hit! I’m especially loving ‘Don’t Talk Bach to Me,’ a mustard lime with a subtle slick of silver shimmer. This color is unlike anything I’ve worn before, and I feel my fall nail repertoire lacks something without this addition. There’s something so ugly pretty about this one, and it looks AMAZE with all of the shades of grey and burgundy we’re seeing this season.
What do you think about this color? Would you wear?
Revlon Global Artistic Director Gucci Westman, responsible for all things awesome over at Revlon the past few years, previewed 2013 launches on the runways at New York Fashion Week. The look seen here at Giuletta’s Spring/Summer 2013 Presentation was all about dewy skin.
“The designer was envisioning a mermaid with an eccentric twist,” says Westman. “I wanted it to look as if the girls had just emerged from the sea. I focused on creating a dewy glow then added a striking brown eye and glossy bronzed lips to complete the look.”
The Revlon look included:
Revlon Nearly Naked Makeup (available January 2013)
Revlon PhotoReady Sculpting Blush Palette in Natural
Revlon Illuminance Creme Shadow in Not Just Nudes Revlon PhotoReady Primer and Shadow in Metropolitan and Graffiti, $9.99 (available January 2013) Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner in Brown, $7.99
Revlon PhotoReady 3D Volume Mascara, $8.99
Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Sugar Plum, $7.49
Revlon ColorBurst Lipgloss in Bronze Shimmer, $7.49
Revlon ColorStay Nail in Enamel in Seashell from The Spring/Summer ’13 Collection (available next spring)
We’re anxiously awaiting more details on the “Nearly Naked Makeup” responsible for this dewy, natural look. Also, we love the natural nude lip from the duo of Colorburst Glosses. That we don’t have to wait until January to try! What do you think?
It is September 2012 and if you have yet to try Vapour Beauty, then you should change that situation a.s.a.p. Your year will take a turn for the plus. Everything I try from this organic beauty powerhouse is a win. No longer is it “for a natural product, it’s pretty good.” Vapour is superior to most non-natural brands. I love the way this industry is progressing. And my skin agrees. My most recent natural beauty find is Vapour Atmosphere Soft Focus Foundation. No chemicals, no irritants. Rather, 70% certified organic ingredients, like pumpkin and camellia, and 30% natural mineral pigments and vitamins.
Vapour designed this to lend a soft finish to the skin. It blurs out blemishes and unevenness flawlessly. Just a pump is all you need (I’m a match to shade S115). Miraculously, I first started using this at the hottest point of the summer and my skin did not act out. There’s a satin feel (due to yummy ingredients, not silicones) and I was wondering if it would slide off my face. When the ingredients are there to balance and do some good, you’ll be amazed at how positively your skin responds.
If you have aging skin (sadly, we all do, that’s life), then this is your friend. It softens the appearance of pesky fine lines and wrinkles, so you’ll look like you’re aging in the opposite direction. $48 at VapourBeauty.com.
After seeing this gorgeous beauty shot from backstage at Alexander Wang, it’s clear that we all need NARS Zen Blush. Can you even with that glowy skin and sculpted cheek? NARS, led by artist Diane Kendal, created the look for the Alexander Wang Spring 2013 show. Here’s the breakdown, and a hint of some new products coming for Spring 2013!
NARS Storm Bird = when a grey nail polish is so much more than just a grey nail polish. Shades of grey (so NOT trying to make a ‘50’ ref, forgive me) have been really popular the past few years. But this shade of grey from NARS is far superior. Storm Bird is a shark grey that is on the nails 100% true to the color you see in the bottle. I love the glossy finish and how beautifully it goes on the nails. This color is definitely going in to a regular rotation this fall. A+ polish. What do you think?
Every now and then we find items that are coming across social media channels faster than an Olympian Sprinter. This week’s winner: Elite Serum.
Elite Serum is an alternative to botox injections that works to force skin rejuvenation at the cellular level. Recommended by a Doctor from the University of Kansas, Elite Serum works to significantly reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, puffiness, and even dark circles that form around the eyes and forehead. We noticed the popular facebook page of Elite Serum and took to the web to find out more information – and we were impressed!
Elite Serum is mentioned on a number of skin care websites and gets high ratings from consumers. It’s also among the top selling dark circle treatments DAILY on Amazon.com, the world’s largest shopping portal.
If the makeup at Rebecca Minkoff’s spring/summer 2013 show is any indication, mint is coming back in a big way for beauty next spring. I just breathed a huge sigh of relief. I am not ready to see pastels go away, and I’m hopelessly in love with all things mint. Stila Cosmetics, led by Pro Artist Sarah Lucero, created the Rebecca Minkoff beauty look, and gave us a sneak peek at the new mint Stay All Day Liquid Liner launching for spring. What do you think? We are LOVING the peek of mint in the corner, and can’t wait to wear this look next season! In the meantime, we’ll try the peek of color in the corner with a deeper shade for fall, like burgundy or purple!
Happy birthday, Fresh! The brand responsible for our beloved Sugar Lip Treatment and all thinks luxury in skincare is turning 21. In honor of the big b-day, Fresh teamed with artist and illustrator R. Nichols to create a series of limited edition Fresh 21 Oval Soaps in three iconic scents: Sugar, Patchouli and Hesperides Grapefruit.
These oval soaps are a special part of Fresh history. In 1991, Fresh founders Lev Glazman and Alina Roytbery launched the brand with this product. The 2012 version feature jazzy packaging and custom illustrations. Look for these this month for $15 each. We think they’d make for a great gift! for ourselves
