It’s that time of year! When we put away the tanning lotion for trenchcoats, the bikinis for the brr… you get the point! Winter is around the corner (in some places, already here :() but with the season, comes a new set of beauty trends. The team of professional makeup artists at Chic Studios NYC,  are ready for the changing weather, and share the hottest trends!

“Using a serum in the winter (dry) months, will help revitalize the skin cells, and rejuvenate your skin! I love and recommend Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate! One of my other favorite winter trends is using a cream blush all over skin, cheeks, eye lids and lips, which is a great way to keep your handbag light, and your skin supple! My go-to product, is NARS Cosmetics for cream blush!” -Amy Nicole, Director of Chic Studios NYC

“During the winter months the skin becomes more dehydrated. You really need to beef up on the skincare as well as eye cream so the skin can be prepped and allow your foundation to look as great as possible. This winter is all about skin! Try using MAC Strobe Cream underneath your foundation for the extra glow. I also recommend using illuminators at the top of the cheek bones and a bit on the nose. I am really enjoying ‘Odyssey,’ the liquid luminizer by Illamasqua.  One of the other tips I also recommend to keep the cheeks fresh by using a cream blush, or a liquid stains like Benefit “Benetint.” And, my look is a gorgeous set of lashes (build-able mascara) with a light shimmery gloss on the lips.” -Ruthie Weems, Professional Makeup Artistry Instructor at Chic Studios NYC

“Winter is killer on my skin — so upping my beauty routine is a must! I always start with a strong, non-pore-clogging moisturizer like Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentre. My sensitive skin can’t thank me enough! For makeup, I love Makeup Forever Rough Lipstick line, especially the lighter, more nude colors like #1, which is a matte flesh color. On my paler winter skin, it just brings my whole look together, whether I have a heavy eye or a wing liner! And to finish off the wintress wear, paint your nails a soft blue, like ‘Coco Blue’ from Chanel. Being an ice queen has never been so pretty!” -Christina Olivo, Admissions & Marketing Director at Chic Studios NYC

“Some tips this winter that are vital for trendsetting: Dark burgundy/wine lips with a creamy matte finish is hot this season, try OCC’s lip tar in “Vintage.” To vamp up your look for all the holiday parties, and, a very black liner rimmed all around the eye smudged out with a crease brush is a great trick! Try “Smolder” liner from MAC. And La la la lashes! Don’t be afraid to do 3-4 coats! Try Smashbox DNA mascara, I swear by it!” -Angelique Velez, Professional Makeup Artistry Instructor at Chic Studios NYC
