I’ve been playing with this set for a week and so far, my lips and cheeks are loving the new gloss and blush shades. The new Airblush Maracuja Blush in Amused is a shimmering poppy shade that adds the right amount of warmth to my skin. It makes me look flushed like I just went out for a job even though I’ve been on my couch the entire time. The brush that comes with this set is also a new favorite of mine, love that is has a dome shape to it instead of your typical flat top. The new Maracuja Divine Shine Lip Gloss in Peaceful is gorgeous on the lips, it is a peach nude shade with fine gold shimmer. I am all about the way it makes my lips look full and luscious.
The Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Quad has everything you need to create a great smokey eye but also has some shades to help you go with a more neutral look. The only shade that disappointed in this quad is Pink Cloud, the shade you see swatched on the left side. The color payoff is not really there and it is just a highlighting shade. The other shades – Silver Mist, Purple Fog and Dark Ash – are well pigmented. There’s a little bit of fallout to clean up but otherwise they are easy to work with.
I have to admit, Tarte’s Aqua-Gel line was a big turn off for me, these liners just fell apart when I used them, the tip practically disintegrated right before my eyes with each use. Since that launch, I haven’t really been tempted to try a new Tarte eyeliner. This new Cashmere Waterproof Gliding Liner restored my faith in Tarte. True to its name, the liner really did glide right on to my lid. I had plenty of play time to smudge out the color, it stayed put on my waterline and gave me plenty of wear time. Thank you, Tarte!
