Chanel has recently introduced a gorgeous new collection of color for this summer that features sunset inspired hues for your eyes, cheeks, lips and nails. Over the next few days, we’ll be talking about each one of those areas. For today, let’s talk about eyes.
This is Chanel’s Quadra Eye Shadow in Shimmering Dunes. Just one look at this quad and I was a goner… I am officially in love with Chanel’s eyeshadow. The shades in this quad are beautiful, it features pearled beige, pink and browns. It’s also versatile, with eyeshadow that can take you to a soft, everyday look or a more vampy smoky eye for the evening. What I like best about this quad is the texture of the eyeshadow, this is the softest eyeshadow I have ever felt. It is packed with color and I was able to blend it effortlessly on my eyes. It doesn’t hurt that it is also formulated to be long lasting and stand up to high temperatures and humidity. This was my first experience with Chanel eyeshadow and I’m happy that it was such a good one. I can’t wait to see what new quads Chanel does next.
This collection also includes two shades of Ombre Essentielle Soft Touch Eyeshadow in Sand and Island, both beautiful shades also bearing the well known Chanel logo. Just like the quad, these shades are soft and very pigmented. Sand is a gorgeous color, a very light, matte caramel brown shade. Island on the other hand, is a sparkling peach pearl shade. Like Annie at Blogdorf Goodman, Sand has become of a favorite of mine as well. For my skin tone, it’s a great color to give my crease some definition.
Last but not least is Chanel’s Ombre D’Eau Fluid Iridescent Eyeshadow in Coast and Source, Source is a rose beige and Coast is a light gold. These fluid eyeshadows are great because they add a wash of shimmer on the eyes. Source has long been a favorite of Chanel addicts for it’s champagne like color, it’s a great color to wear all over and it lasts quite awhile as well.
Tomorrow we’ll talk about Chanel’s blush and lipgloss.
