Milky, Cereal, Baby

OK, not really completely related to my post but those are just LL Cool J lyrics from back in the day. Today is all about the milk, not the O, but the milk. I have an instant attraction to any product that uses milk in any way. One of my favorite products is Burt’s Bees Milk & Honey Body Lotion, so when I was given the chance to try products from the SkinMilk line, this was a no-brainer.

Skinmilkbath I started by using the Shower Gel and the Bath Bar from this line. The first thing I noticed about these products was their scent. It seems to smell exactly like Kielh’s Vanilla scented products, like Kiehl’s Bath and Shower Liquid Body Cleanser for instance. I liked that the bath bar really gave a good lather. Some soaps that I have tried really wimp out in this regard and I was pleased to see that this one did not. I’ve used the shower gel more than the bath bar but I do have to say, my skin is feeling completely loved lately. I’ve started using skin polishing towel along with the shower gel and my skin is feeling soft and smooth as a baby’s bottom. While I do like Kiehl’s Bath and Shower Liquid Body Cleanser‘s consistency, I think I’ll stick with SkinMilk because this has a much better price. Also, this line has other bath products such as the Body Scrub and the Foaming Bath Soak that are definitely worth a try.

Not that these products left my skin dry but Skinmilksoftshimmer I also tried the Soft Shimmer Body Lotion from the SkinMilk line. Just like the rest of the products that I tried, this product also features the same light and milky vanilla scent. I compared this product to another Kiehl’s I have, the Deluxe Hand & Body Lotion with Aloe Vera & Oatmeal in Vanilla and I have to say, I prefer this lotion to Kiehl’s. I do not like how runny Kiehl’s lotion is but I kept using it because of the scent. This lotion is definitely thicker and I like the consistency of it. While the name of the lotion suggests there’s some shimmer to it, I have yet to see it. I supose if I put on layers and layers of the lotion, I might see a faint shimmer on my skin but I don’t have the patience for that. I was happy to use this without the shimmer. Although, it would not hurt to up the shimmer factor in this product. It would just encourage me to keep using this product.

  1. You’ve got to check out drbaumann.com! Dr Baumann wrote The Skin Type Solutions and now she has a website with a forum for skincare and makeup info, etc. She’ll even answer your questions directly if you want. I found it was a comfort to have her feedback on my specific skin type before making a purchase on a product I wasn’t so sure about. Take a look!

  2. I agree, Jen – http://www.drbaumann.com is a great site! I read her book first after seeing her on Good Morning America, and I can’t believe the impact of her suggestions. The book includes a questionnaire that identifies your skin type (there are 16, according to Dr. Baumann). Most of my questions were answered in the book and I immediately made changes to my skin care routine and bought new make-up and other products (including the Olay Touch of Sun). Anyway, I sent a follow-up question to the website and was really impressed that I got an answer just a few days later!
