Anti-Aging is a Battlefield, Fight it with SkinCeuticals

There are a few camps of people: some who are perfectly content falling asleep with makeup, and others who would never. Even in my most inebriated state, I’ve been known to bust out the Clarisonic. Clearly, you know which camp I fall in. I take my skincare routine very seriously.

A key part of said skincare routine is using a serum in the morning and night. Think of a serum as a drink for your skin. Like a cocktail of antioxidants. While there are many formulas and potions out there, I swear by the power of SkinCeuticals. I like to describe it as being in a constant war against free radicals and other environmental stressors, and SkinCeuticals Phloretin CF and Retexturing Activator are my soldiers. These products have got my back in the battle against environmental stressors and signs of aging!

I use SkinCeuticals Phloretin CF every morning. It’s a potent topical antioxidant treatment that combines the power of phloretin with vitamin C and ferulic acid. It’s preventative care, but also helps accelerate cell turnover and leads to a more youthful looking appearance. I use this as a first step after washing my face in the a.m. and it sinks into the skin instantly.

At night, I use SkinCeuticals Retexturing Activator which helps resurface and replenish your skin. I noticed a dramatic difference in skin texture after just four weeks of using this. The secret here is exfoliation and hydration to both regenerate skin, diminishing surface lines, and make the skin smoother and softer.

What I love about these serums is how they are so powerful yet so gentle on the skin. My makeup goes on smoother and the texture of my skin has improved substantially since I started on this regimen a few months ago. SkinCeuticals has many different offerings that will address any skin issue, but these two are the perfect serum cocktail for my skin. Check them out for yourself on

  1. I use Skinceuticals CE Ferulic Acid and like it because I know it’s good for my skin, but I really haven’t noticed a positive difference in my skin. I still want to try the Phloretin and see if that ones shows a visible improvement.

  2. I used the C&E Ferulic and liked it, but when I went to repurchase, the salespeaople were really pushing the Phloretin Serum. Interestingly, after a few weeks of use, I felt that it was actually making my discoloration and uneven skin tone worse! I felt that it was sort of “staining” my skin. I stopped using it and my skin looked more even-toned within a week! I wish I could take it back as it was soooo expensive.

  3. I use to use Skinceuticals C&E Ferulic with good results but it’s just too expensive for me to continue with. I did however, have some luck on Ebay buying samples–I don’t know if that is still an option, I’m going to check it out again. I seem to get much better results with skincare companies rather than a cosmetics brand line of skincare.
