Schick Hydro Silk, Seven Years in the Making

What were you doing seven years ago? Me, I was living in Washington, DC and enjoying my first “real” job out of college. Not yet married, but dating my now husband. Schick? They were designing the next best thing in razors — the Schick Hydro Silk™, launching at the end of the month.

After seven years of testing, Schick says they have made the shaving experience better. This is welcome news. Razors have come a long way. My young nieces will likely never know the hacking my knees and ankles suffered. (I have bad vision — shower without contacts on. Mistakes happen(ed). I don’t want to talk about it.)

I’m hoping after a few more months with the Tria, I won’t have to use this on my underarm or bikini line, but my legs see a lot of razor time, especially in the summer. I’ve been using the Hydro Silk for a while now, and wanted to share my thoughts.

Schick infused this razor with a moisturizing serum that activates with water to prevent skin from being stripped of essential moisture and the resulting irritation. It sports five blades that curve and deliver a close shave. This is very noticeable to me (being a “blind” shaver and all). The design is also very ergonomic. I tend to drop my razors a lot (too many oil-based products + blind showering – I’M A MESS!) and then the blade falls off and I have to reconnect the cartridge. That doesn’t happen here. It’s so easy to hold on to and weighs next to nothing.

And the best part is we have razors to giveaway so you can try, too! Leave us a comment and we’ll email you with a unique link where you can sign up for a free Schick Hydro Silk. And if you have a case of the shower klutzies, please let us know (it will make me feel better!)
