Revlon and Makeup for a Beachy Waves Look + a Givewaway

Beachy waves, how I love thee. Effortless (truly, wait until I tell you about my new hair obsession next time!), chic and so summery. In this next video we teamed up with Revlon on, I show off some waves and feature three products to complement the look.

  • Revlon ColorStay Smoky Shadow Stick
  • Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain
  • Revlon PhotoReady 3D Volume Mascara

The Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Romantic is the perfect cherry color (see swatches here), and the Smoky Shadow Stick is a fun double-ended shadow and/or liner. It’s less of a precise liner, but the darker end does have a pointed tip. Our tip with that: wear a primer both on the eyelids and dab it on the lower lash line. It makes a dramatic difference with wear — especially in the summer!

You may have a chance to test it yourselves. Revlon’s provided us with 10 Smoky Shadow Sticks to giveaway to Product Girl readers. Just leave a comment here and tell us your favorite way to wear your hair in the summer! We will pick 10 (ten!) winners on Wednesday, June 20.

  1. In the summer, I like to use a volumizer and a frizz fighting styling creme before I air-dry my naturally wavy hair, then follow up with shine serum. It’s low fuss and gives me a super easy beach waves look! Hot Texas summers = no blow drying for me!

  2. My favorite way to wear my hair is to put it up in a bun after I take a shower at night, and sleep on it. Then in the morning, I have some pretty natural curls/waves going on!! Super low maintenance. Otherwise, I just put it up, no fuss.

  3. I love to wear my hair in a top knot for summer. It’s fun, effortless, and if you put it up while wet and let dry, it’ll turn into great beach waves.

  4. My favorite way to wear my hair in the summer is in retro pin curl waves! My hair is a frizzy mess in the summer, so wash-and-go is not an option for me. Weekly, I go to the salon and roller set my hair, and pin curl it every night. This way, my hair stays curly, bouncy and fresh for the week! And those days when the heat is too unbearable, i’ll take my curls and transform it into a high ballerina bun! πŸ™‚

  5. I’m a ladyboy and I have a long waist-length hair. I live in the Philippines which is a tropical country. I shampoo my hair daily with a hair-fall control conditioner. I just towel it dry, comb it a little bit, and when it’s dry, I place my hair on the left front side of my shoulder which I usually do. Plus, it gives me a more feminine look that way. I always apply a little bit of olive oil conditioning spray to give my hair a shiny glow without weighing it down. It’s mostly summer in the Philippines and the largest part of our skin that sweats a lot is our back that’s why I always put my hair on the side so that my hair wouldn’t touch my sweaty back especially when I’m wearing tank tops or backless tops when it gets really warm.

  6. I don’t want to cut my hair off, so I twist it and pull it up in a clip..easy and out the door!!

  7. I love to embrace my naturally wavy hair and use no heat tools during the summer. Just some curling creme and a little mousse create the perfect waves and my hair stays healthy all summer, even in the sun and with chlorine damage.

  8. I’ve always been lazy and thrown it up in a ponytail. But in the last year my hair has gone from fine & stick straight to wavy, so now I’m trying to learn how to deal with it all over again. So I’m emracing the beachy wave look and searching for products to help me do it!

  9. My favorite way to wear my hair in the summer is scrunched in beachy waves using sea salt spray. It is so easy to do and looks perfectly messy every time! It’s great to give my hair a break from heat!

  10. I’ve just grown out my short hair for the first time in over 10 years so I’m letting it go wavy for the summer. Not long or thick enough for a ponytail so I can use all the help I can get!

  11. I usually always leave my hair down during the year, but this summer I’ve decided to be more adventurous with my hair! Recently I’ve been putting it up in a ‘sock bun’ or creating fun braids. Sock buns or braids are great for wet hair (I sleep with them in) and wake up with lovely waves! πŸ™‚

  12. I like doing a wrap around french braid starting on the right side of my head that I finish off with a bun just behind my left ear. If I wear it like that all day I let it loose in the nighttime and it’ll have created beachy waves that I LOVE for a fun evening look! πŸ™‚

  13. i’m ashamed to say that it’s usually in a ponytail, but i got a haircut today so i’ll probably be wearing it wavy!

  14. I have naturally curly hair. Normally, I have to use lots of products and diffuse it. During the summer, I’m off (I’m a teacher) so I like to wash it, add a little gel and let it naturally air dry while sipping my coffee on the deck. The look is softer with a more “beach waves” look to it. During the school year, I don’t have the time to do this.

  15. I like the beachy wave look so I let my hair air dry and scrunch away. I am looking for a new beachy wave hair product.

  16. I usually flat iron my hair straight, but in the summer, I allow my hair to fall into it’s natural wavy state. I love it as a more casual look.

  17. It gets so hot here in Colorado that I like to wear it up in a messy bun using those goody screw pins.
A side ponytail with a cute hat also works well. Love your beachy waves!

  18. Wet messy bun during the day and at night I just tale out of bun add product and grt natural waves

  19. I always keep my hair short and fluffy in the summer. I think a casual, tousled look is perfect for warm weather days.

  20. I love doing ‘fake bobs’ in the summertime. Perfect way to get my hair off my neck in thw sweltering heat while giving myself a classic chic look.

  21. I straighten my hair, and curl it at the ends. It’s my signature look, and I don’t change it up for summer.

  22. In summer, I prefer not to fight with my hair. Due to the high humidity days, I don’t even attempt to curl it because it will fall right out.

  23. Those shadow sticks look awesome! I can’t to use heat tools once it really gets humid out. My go-to hair style involves smoothing Moroccan Oil onto partially damp hair, twisting into a bun, and allowing to try naturally.

  24. I enjoy air drying my hair with conditioner on the tips and curling the ends, brushing them out and lightly teasing my roots with hair spray. Then i pull it back into a half ponytail with bobbypins. Hoop earrings. A slight bee hive look, i cant get enough of 60s/70s hair dos and fashion!!!!

  25. My fav way is to braid my hair before bed and take it out in the morning – voila, easy waves for summer πŸ™‚

  26. My summer go to hairstyle is putting it in a wet bun during the day, so by the time I’m off work, I can un-do the bun and it will have created a “just got out of bed, soft waves” and I’m ready for a dinner date.

  27. I love scrunching a handful of mousse into my wet hair and letting it air dry for soft beachy waves!

  28. Ponytails seem to be the most practical and versatile hairstyle for my summer lifestyle, plus they’re easy to dress-up or down depending on the occasion.

  29. I have SUPER curly hair, so I love to wear it down and natural, with just a bit of gel and de-frizzing cream!
