Nutrisystem Nation: Week 3 & 4

Instead of waiting to update you on my 4th week weigh-in when I haven’t even discussed my 3rd week, I’m just going to combine it into one post. How about that? :)

Last week’s weigh in was a little disappointing because I maintained my weight but it got me thinking about the some of the new habits I’ve picked up since I started Nutrisystem. I have not had fast food in almost a month. On other diets I have tried in the past, I would have a consumed at least something from McDonald’s by now simply because it was OK if it was within my point range. I still could go by McDonald’s and have something if I wanted to but I am happy that it hasn’t even been a thought until now. That’s kind of a big deal for me.

This picture here is obviously of my refrigerator, but it is also all of the food in my apartment as of today. My fridge is stocked in a way that makes me happy and has been a rarity until now… it full of healthy things! The worst thing in my fridge is a sauce from William Sonoma I haven’t thrown out yet even though I don’t like it and was a total waste of money…$16 and doesn’t even taste like piccata sauce! Some of my previous diet staples are in there but for the most part, lots of veggies, fruits, lean proteins and low fat diary. Another big deal for me. Since March is National Nutrion month, my fridge is dressed for the occasion.

Yesterday’s weigh in was much better, I lost 2lbs. last week. It wasn’t the 3lbs. I wanted but I was happy. That brings my total lost on Nutrisystem to 9lbs and almost 15lbs. prior to it. For every 10lbs. you lose, the fine folks at Nutrisystem send you a Nutribear which I am really, really curious to see. My goal is to have quite a few of these hanging around by the time I’m done with my 4 months. I still haven’t returned to the gym but it’s definitely happening this week, just need to find some sneakers first because this gal will not enjoy hitting the treadmill in her Birkenstocks.

Here’s another first for me… I made a video with my mug in it. I just summed up my first month on Nutrisystem, which I will do a few more times to sum up each month. I’ve always shied away from posting videos because I was embarrassed about how I would look/sound on video but maybe it was the wavy hair I was rocking on Sunday, I felt more confident than usual so I just did it and I actually liked doing it. Now I’m actually thinking about doing some beauty video reviews, just have to figure out the video equipment situation because this webcam business is not cutting it. What do you think? Would you be interested in beauty related videos?

  1. Thank you so much for posting the video! I love reading the blog daily and am so happy that you’re getting your heatlh under control using Nutrisystem. Making healthy food choices is diffucult for me and I find that when I document what I eat, I’m more aware of what I’m putting into my body and I naturally make better food decisions. One thing that I love to make is cut up cucumbers, zucchini, (skins on) and cherry tomatoes with a dash of olive oil, ranch dressing powder, and mrs. dash seasoning. It’s a great refreshing, crunchy addition to any meal. Thanks again for your inspiration and superb beauty reviews!

  2. Carla! You’re doing so awesome! I hope I can join it with you soon.

Love the video! I like that you’re headaches have started to go away. I don’t have diabetes, but I do get headaches pretty much every day, some of which turn into migraines. I’d love it if that didn’t happen as much.

  3. Carla, you are a beautiful woman, no matter what size you are. I ADORE your hair in the video, it’s perfect. Keep up the good work!
