New! MAC Cosmetics Baroque Boudoir

Next week MAC Cosmetics will release their Baroque Boudoir collection exclusively in MAC stores. The Baroque Boudoir collection is this year’s high end collection from MAC, just like the Monogram collection from last year and the Stylistics collection from the year before that. I always look forward to seeing these limited edition collections because I can’t wait to see the packaging. This year I’m loving the gorgeous jacquard pattern, it screams Carla… because if I could surround myself with jacquard patterns, I totally would. 🙂

Let’s take a look at what this collection includes:

Baroque Boudoir Compact/Sheer Mystery Powder

  • Light Medium – pale ivory
  • Medium Plus – tan beige

Baroque Boudoir Lipstick

  • Prive – creamy light blue pink (cream)
  • Treasured – creamy warm nude beige (cream)
  • Baroque Boudoir – creamy dark plum (cream)

Baroque Boudoir Lipgloss

  • Preciousness – sheer metallic pink with white pearl (frost)
  • The Lap of Luxury – sheer baby pink with white (frost)
  • D’Nouveau – sheer dusty rose with light pink pearl (frost)

So what do you say? Anything here going on your wishlist? I have to admit, this collection is more for the collector in me so I won’t be picking anything up to use up. I do have my eye on the Baroque Boudoir Compact… that will be mine. 🙂

  1. I might go and look at that collection, but there’s nothing I absolutely have to own. The lipsticks look quite wearable, but they just don’t excite me.

  2. I’m so excited for this collection – the packaging is just gorgeous! It’s a little too expensive for my usual makeup budget, but it comes out on my birthday, so I figure I can buy myself something as a treat 😉

  3. I bought treasured, the lap of luxury and the compact. I have to say I don’t usually like MAC lipsticks but this was the perfect nude for me. Often, the nude options are too sheer, too light, or too dark. This is just opaque enough to cover the color in my lips and the right color to give a natural nude appearance. The lip gloss had more of the smooth chanel gloss feel which I really appreciated. (I find even MAC’s cremesheen glosses are sticky/tacky; this was the first I found that did not have this problem.) The compact was a splurge and the powder is nothing much different from their blot powders but the case will make a beautiful pill box once the powder is out as well as a fashionable compact on special occasions. I think they did upgrade the quality of the products and though they are not exciting colors they are wearable classics that go with many types of complexions and compliment different genres of fashion.
