What I wouldn’t give for some Vent Glacé right about now. Leave it to NARS to expand our understanding of the French language — Vent Glacé translates to “icy wind.” In fact, all of NARS Fall 2012 collection has us longing for cool fall temps so badly. Autumn Leaves Lipstick, anyone? While we’re still months away from meteorological icy winds, we’ll happily take the NARS Duo Eyeshadow in Vent Glacé in the interim. A duo of platinum and silver smoke, Vent Glacé is neutral with the NARS twist. The twist in this instance is the green undertones. The platinum is a frosty pale silvery green and the silver smoke is an interesting sage khaki.
This is the kind of duo that will look different on everyone, I’m convinced. At the first hint of green anything, my skin just latches on. Do you know the Chanel Illusion d Ombre eyeshadows? The shade Epatant is this complex grey shade with green undertones (see photos here on Cafe Makeup for reference) that is a straight up green on my lids. It’s gorgeous, but one of those colors that can be a little more grey or brown depending on the person. In the case of Vent Glacé, I love it. The platinum is brightening and the silver smoke looks great in the crease. And the best part happens when you layer these shades together. The texture is smooth and they create this hybrid sage color that can best be described as icy and cool.
In true NARS form, he gives us something to think about it and consider with our color pairings. This one is not so wild and out there as so many of his duos can be, but it’s a refreshing take on very wearable neutrals. We say this one is a must. $34, NARSCosmetics.com
