The NARS Summer 2010 collection will be available online tomorrow and hitting counters soon after. I have to tell you that I love cream based products. I love cream eyeshadows and cream blushes and when I realized this collection’s core was just that, it was instant love.
I was lucky enough to preview this collection during Fashion Week in February and learn about it’s inspiration. Once again, Francois Nars sought inspiration from another Catherine Deneuve character. This time the character is Sèverine from the film Belle de Jour. “Her character is incredibly beautiful and elegant,” says François. “Her look is effortless—she has an incredible inner sophistication.” And just like the Spring collection, supermodel Amber Valletta is at the forefront of the campaign.
Is it me or is this woman permanently frozen in time? Amber Valletta looks amazing. Want to find out more about the collection and see some swatches?
Enchanted Cream Blush – a soft-peach cream blush that delivers a hint of shimmer and smooth, silky color.
Burn It Blue Duo Cream Eyeshadow – this iridescent ocean-blue paired with turquoise creates a lively duo cream eyeshadow.
Cayenne Cream Eyeshadow – a spicy, deep brown cream eyeshadow that is intensely rich yet carries a weightless texture.
Love Devotion Lipstick – a nourishing, long-lasting sheer guava lipstick.
Coup de Coeur Lip Gloss – just like the French phrase it’s named after, this shiny, sheer apple-brandy tinted lip gloss is sure to yield love at first sight.
Lamu Multiple – a fresh, glazed-apricot shade with gold sparkles to create shimmering accents.
Versailles Nail Polish – regal and opalescent, this champagne-gold nail hue shimmers, creating a light-catching tint and gilded sophistication.
Here are some swatches from the collection, everything but the nail polish:
My favorite pieces in this collection are the Burn it Blue Duo Cream Eyeshadow and Enchanted Cream Blush. The light blue in the duo is fantastic for summer (remember, turquoise is the season’s it color) and it reminds me of a lot of the Paint Pots from the MAC Alexander McQueen collection. Then the blush… oh the blush. Don’t get me wrong, we love the NARS Orgasm Illuminator but this blush does the job as well when applied with a light hand.
So what do you think? Will you be picking something up from the collection? Let us know in the comments.
