I love the excitement of new collections and I especially love seeing a new NARS collection. Aside from just being a huge fan, I love hearing his inspritation for a line and appreciate that he’s not only a makeup artist but a photographer as well. Plus he’s got an adorable French Bulldog and I’m a sucker for the smushy faced pups:) I am a proud mother of a Boston Terrier!
NARS Spring 2010 collection is inspired by Catherine Deneuve’s role as Lucille in La Chamade (1968) and Francois NARS chose and photographed Amber Valetta as the face of the campaign. I am loving what he did to counter and highlight her face – using Amour Blush and Albatross Highlighting Powder.
And here’s the scoop on the rest of the collection!
D. Gorgeous Single Eyeshadow – A dusty lilac shade. Don’t you just love the name?
Camargue Duo Cream Eyeshadow – A duo of golden moss and sienna. NARS defined Amber Valetta’s lower lash line with the sienna shade – which is something I haven’t tried with these cream shadows. I find for me that they work best layered under powders.
Kuala Lumpur Duo Eyeshadow – Gold infused rose and boysenberry – a perfectly paired contrast. If it weren’t for NARS duo, I wouldn’t have attempted so many awesome color combinations (Habanera, anyone?)
Cruising Lipstick – Subtle, sexy pink lipstick with a sheer natural finish. This looks like a perfect pinky nude!
Lip Gloss – Always a good day when NARS introduces two new glosses. That bright, ultra-sheer hot pink is Easy Lover and has been dubbed the universal pink gloss. Ophelia is described as a high-shine strawberry nectar.
Purple Rain Nail Polish – Interesting seeing this bright purple in the context of this collection. What does everyone think? A winner or out of place?
Glitter Pencil – Bright sky-blue infused with silver glitter.
