I'm All About the Lips with NARS Fall 2011

NARS Fall 2011 collection is equal parts confident, intense and edgy. I absolutely love the campaign image, featuring Italian model Mariacarla Boscono. While the eyes are the focus in the vibrant blue Outremer eyeshadow, I’m drawn to the barely there nude lips. And the brows. Those are fantastic looking brows, filled in NARS Bali eyeshadow.

The lip color range in NARS Fall is impressive. From the deep aubergine Train Blue Velvet Matte pencil and the new Pure Matte Lipstick additions in Montego Bay, a rose pink, and Mascate, a true red, to the sparkling pink champagne Oasis Lip Gloss. For me, though, I had an instant attraction to the petal pink Pago Pago lipstick.

Pago Pago is one of those lipsticks that you can wear anytime, anywhere. It goes with everything and just gives your lips a boost of natural shine. I absolutely love NARS sheer lipstick formula. They’ve got the feel of a lip blam with pigment and a satin-like shine. In fact, Pago Pago bears some similarities to NARS Cruising and Little Darling (compared here), but has an infusion of silver microglitter.

The difference on the lips is much less subtle, but you can see that Cruising is slightly more mauve and shimmer-less in comparison to Pago Pago. I love them both, however, I may be partial to Cruising. What can I say, other than I’m on my third tube of it?!

  1. Pago pago was on my immediate pick up list too =)

I tried Cruising in-store once but left without it. I should take a second look based on your endorsement!
