NARS Douceur Blush for fall is beautiful. It was love at first sight for me. I stopped by the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale first thing on its opening day and made my first stop the NARS counter. The Chicago counter is the best — led by the “A” team of Alex, Adrienne and Amanda — if you’re in the area you need to visit them! Interestingly enough, Alex informed me that they were already sold out of the Strawberry Fields gloss and the Palladium Soft Touch Pencil. So I jumped on this blush immediately.
It may look ordinary – a matte pink blush with brown undertones – but it’s quite unique to NARS blush collection. It’s matte but I wouldn’t describe the color as flat. It doesn’t turn muddy on my skin, which blushes with brown hues tend to do. To my eye, it’s like Dolce Vita’s younger dusty pink sister. It’s also shares some similarities with one of my favorite (limited edition) MAC blushes, The Perfect Cheek, released with last fall’s Makeup Art Cosmetics Collection. Surprisingly, the NARS etching on the actual product sticks around for awhile. I’ve used this a few times now and its still there.
As you can see, it’s more pink on my skin than brown. It translates to dusty pink perfection on the face. If you love NARS blushes, I’d say you need this. I know I did, and I’m very happy with the purchase! Let us know if you’ve had a chance to check out this collection in person and what you thought of Douceur!
