Make Up For Ever at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim in Miami

Make Up For Ever is the official makeup sponsor at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim in Miami, an event where top swimwear designers from around the world gather to showcase their upcoming collections. Their artists have been working hard Friday, Saturday, Sunday and today to create looks that stand up to the Miami heat.

To celebrate the occasion, Product Girl and Make Up For Ever have teamed up to give away products from using to create the looks featured in some of the shows. We will host a new giveaway each day of this week and we’re starting things off with the look from the Ed Hardy fashion show.

Makeup artist James Vincent was the key artist for the Ed Hardy swim show on Friday, July 16th. He created a bold black eye and strong red lip for a glamorous, old Hollywood look.

Complexion & Cheeks: The skin was bronzed and dewy with highlights on the brow bone and high cheek.

Eyes: To get a neutral base for the eye, James applied MAKE UP FOR EVER Eye Shadow #156 up to the brow bone. He then created a thick rim around the top of the eye extending to the liner beyond the outer corner of the lid using MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Black, and he then went on to rim the lower lash line as well. He finished by applying two coats of MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Smoky Lash.

Lips: For a gorgeous pop of red on the lips, James applied MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Cream #8.

From this look we will be giving awayΒ  1 Aqua Black (a pot of matte black eye shadow/liner) , 1 Aqua Eyes liner in #0L (black) and 1 Aqua Cream in #8 (a tomato red). To enter, simply leave a comment below on this entry by midnight on Monday, July 26th. A winner will be chosen at random and notified via email on Tuesday. Good luck!

Check back with us tomorrow for the look created for the Dolores Cortes swim show and giveaway. And don’t forget to check back with us later in the week for the looks created at the Mara Hoffman, Aqua Di Lara, Luli Fama, Marysia Swim and Tyler Rose.

  4. Found out about this via Twitter — very cool. Definitely would love to try out this stuff.

I’m a makeup junkie…of MAC products. I never really try much else, so I’d love to give something new a try.

Plus, I love the colours you showcased above. I think it would also make for a great vintage look — very Joan Holloway! πŸ™‚

  5. o.m.g. i would loveeee to try this look i allready wear my eye makeup like this now but i would love to try it with make up forever’s products!!!!!! they are really good(:

  6. This would be great – I’m a beginner in make-up and would and could use all the help and products I can get.

  7. My Mom took a look at this and commented: There was a time that this style of make-up was only for the people in show-biz, times have changed, now everyone is wearing it!
She is right you know. I have seen many wearing this style actually. I like it.

  8. I love the red lips on the models. It would be nice if the bangs matched the rest of their hair though.

  9. This is actually one of my favorite makeup looks to do when I go out. I use black eyeliner to do a sultry cat eye and then use a revlon red lipstick. It would be great if I could recreate the look using Makeup Forever Products. Great giveaway!

  10. Wow I can’t believe you have a series of contests that I just found out now. Please count me in! πŸ™‚

  11. I retweeted about this contest at http://www.twitter/DianeLori. FINALLY, a look that doesn’t mention the word nude in it. I am so sick of the nude/naked look. What is the purpose of wearing make up if the outcome makes you look as if you aren’t wearing anything.

While not everyone can pull off this look, I absolutely love it. And, it fits the whole Ed Hardy style, bold and wild and wonderful. I have light green eyes and I think that this look goes well, with light eyes as they would truly make your eyes pop. Yes, having bold eyes AND lips is supposedly a no-no according to the professionals, but make up is supposed to be fun and there is no set way of wearing it. I love these colors and I love all the fun one can have discovering how many looks one can achieve.

  12. I am not positive I would like this much black around my eyes, but would like to try it! Love the red lipstick!

  13. I absolutely love this look, Im not sure if my face is strong enough to pull it off, but Im gonna try!
