New! MAC Cosmetics Well Defined Collection

If you’re looking for a new foundation or concealer, check out the new Well Defined collection from MAC. It lands on counters today.

It includes their new Studio Sculpt Concealer, Studio Sculpt Foundation and repromotes their Prep & Prime Skin and brushes.

I haven’t tried the new foundation and concealer yet but I’ve heard good things about the formulas so far. The coverage is good, it produces a more natural look after being set with powder, has more oil control than other formulas and it is buildable.

Will you be trying something from this collection? Let us know!

  1. I bought Studio Sculpt concealer in NC42. I’ve been using Select Coverup in that shade for about a year and love it but wanted to try something new. It seems quite a bit darker in Studio Sculpt though, maybe because it’s heavier. I like the coverage but am considering going back to see if the next shade lighter might be a better match. Has anyone else tried matching this in a shade they already use?

  2. Horrible!! careful.. It’s not going to hurt you but you need to have your skin prepared in advance. Let your moisturizer absorb a little. I feel the formula is different in every shade. nc20-25 feel good and stay on if you use the 190, but you have to speckle it on. nc30-35 and 40 are horrible. They separate on the skin and crackle in about 10 minutes. You have to.. have to.. set this with mineralize skin finish powder.. nc42-44 are like “whatevers” and all the NW’s seem fine. Bottom line, if you get any of theses, make you try it on b4 you buy! It’s probably going to change like the mineralize did. They’re not the same from when they first came out!! 😉

  3. When some of my girls at mac told me about this foundation I was super excited, and of course, rushed in bare-faced to try it. While the collection is awesome in concept, i think it ran into some problems with execution. First, I agree that all the colors are a bit off. I’m an NW15 and even that shade was too dark and yellow, which is unfortunate. The second problem I ran into is one of my own invention. The foundation, on my face dried up and made my normally somewhat oil skin look patchy and dry. The remedy– it’s meant to be mixed with a moisturizer… strobe fluid ideally. You can also mix it with a non-mac moisturizer of your own choosing.

As for the concealer I think the colors are jacked… which sucks. It does, however, cover skin texture problems better than anything I’ve ever seen. So if you have to cover scars or lines, or whatever… this is it, if they have your shade!
