I was going to do my nails with Deborah Lippmann’s Glitter in the Air but I’m saving that mani for later in the week because I want it to be as fresh as possible when I meet the Deborah Lippman on Saturday (at the Nordstrom downtown Seattle spring trend show). I decided on the Lancome Ultra Lavande spring collection polishes together, taking a page out of the All Lacquered Up playbook. Violet Groove is gorgeous on its own and right up my alley but adding some of the Le 54 shades on top just took it over the top for me.
Violet Groove is well pigmented and applies really easily. I didn’t want to pile on the coats of nail polish with this manicure so I only used one coat of Violet Groove and it almost gave me solid, opaque coverage. One more coat would have been perfection but since I was adding on some Le 54 on top, I figured I wouldn’t need to since the glitter shade also has some color to it. Sure enough, I can’t even find the few sheerer spots I saw on my nails earlier. Le 54 is really sheer purple with fine blue glitter and it adds a nice pearlized look to the nails in the midst of all the glitter that I really am loving.
This was my first time playing with both shades and I’m really curious about how 3 or 4 coats of Le 54 will look. I really like packing the color on with glitter shades. How about you? What’s on your nails this week?
