Halloween Color: MAC As Seen By & In High Def Collections

Halloween is right around the corner, it’s going to be here before we know it! I don’t usually dress up for work but this year, I’m going to so I’ve started looking through my stash so I can figure out what I’m going to do. That reminded me of the In High Def and Make-Up Artist Cosmetics As Seen By collections from MAC, those collections feature some Halloween friendly shades worth talking about. It’s not always oranges and yellows for Halloween.

The MAC In High Def collection has what you need for a good base for your makeup, your canvas if you will. I always thought high-def meant caked on makeup but it actually looks surprisingly natural. The collection really only gives us 4 new lipsticks but I don’t mind being reminded that the Face and Body Foundation and Mineralize Skinfinish Naturals are still around. 🙂 Here’s what’s included in this collection:

  • Limited Edition Lipstick in Close to Real, High Def, Sharp Focus and Resolutely Red
  • Face and Body Foundation
  • Mineralize Skinfinish Natural
  • 187 Duo Fibre Brush
  • 188 Mini Duo Fibre Brush

The Make-Up Artist Cosmetics As Seen By collections are a collaboration with three different artists: painter Richard Phillips, illustrator Maira Kalman and photographer Marilyn Minter. While all three artists give you something to drool over (the eyeshadow quads in Richard Phillips collection are fantastic combinations), I am loving the Maira Kalman and Marilyn Minter collaborations.

The Maira Kalman collaboration is my favorite part of the As Seen By collection. The eyeshadows and eyeliners are full of bold color that’s perfect for this time of year. It’s not all about goblins and goul during Halloween. Bright vivid color is totally allowed in my book. Here’s what’s this collaboration:

  • Haunting
  • Off the Page
  • Crest the Wave
  • Purple Shower
  • Violet Trance
  • Maira’s Mood

Technakolh Liners

  • Graphblack
  • Obviously Orange
  • Colour Matters
  • Artistic License
  • Full of Fuchsia

Halloween wouldn’t be complete without a little glitter and the Marilyn Minter collaboration brings some glitter and pigments along for the ride. Here’s what is in this collaboration:

  • Reflects Copper Glitter
  • Reflects Rust Glitter
  • Gold Glitter
  • Fuchsia Glitter
  • Cocomotion Pigment
  • Brash & Bold Pigment
  • Heritage Rouge Pigment
  • Push the Edge Pigment

So do you know what you will be for Halloween? What makeup will you use to get your look? Tell me all about it in the comments.
