Splurge vs. Steal: Guerlain Meteorites & Victoria’s Secret Luminous Face Powder Gems

Ladies, pay attention! This Splurge vs. Steal has us a little excited over in Product Girl land. The contenders: Guerlain Meteorites and Victoria’s Secret Luminous Face Powder Gems.

Guerlain Meteorites could be considered by some to be the makeup equivalent of one of the seven wonders of the world. They packaging is to die and so is the product itself. They are powdered pearls that work to give you a perfect complexion by brightening, lightening and evening your skin tone.  And don’t even get me started on the beauty of the Meteorites that Guerlain released with their 2009 holiday collection. Suffice it to say, they are on my wish list big-time. But at $53, we’re definitely in splurge territory.

Next we have the Victoria’s Secret Luminous Face Powder Gems from the new Heidi Klum Exotic Jewels collection. These are also illuminating powder pearls that brighten your skin tone and give you that lit-from-within glow. The pearls are a mix of plum, pink and gold – and on my fair skin tone, are best used as a blush. At $22, these are a steal! I picked these up last week and have been wearing it as a blush daily. I am in love with this product – it gives my cheeks a rosy glow and the packaging is gorgeous. It’s a sturdy cardboard and the pattern is, as the collection indicates, very exotic.

The final verdict? Both of these products are amazing – but the Victoria’s Secret Face Powder Gems are a steal! Have you tried either? Share your thoughts below!
