Five Year Engagement Giveaway!

I am a sucker for anything with Jason Segel in it so naturally The Five Year Engagement immediately went on my “must see” list. For this movie, Jason teamed up with the producers of Bridesmaids for this comedy about an engaged couple (Jason’s fiance is played by the lovely Emily Blunt) that keeps getting tripped up on the long walk down the aisle. The cast also includes Chris Pratt, Alison Brie and Rhys Ifans. You can watch the trailer for The Five Year Engagement here. Here’s a brief synopsis of the movie for you:

Exactly one year after Tom Solomon (Segel) met Violet Barnes (Blunt), he surprised her with a ring. By all accounts, Tom and Violet are destined for their happily ever after, but career plans and comical problems manage to torpedo every “save the date.” Five years later, two people who once dreamed of the perfect day just want to get it over with. Through the humorous trials of discovering who they will become as a couple, Tom and Violet will learn if they have what it takes to survive their five-year engagement.

We’ve partnered up with the film for a new giveaway. You can win a $25 Visa cash card for a “Night at the Movies” and a Five-Year Engagement Cosmetic bag filled with lip gloss, nail file matchbook, eye mask, purse hanger, comb/mirror and a little faux bling engagement ring. Call it a mini emergency kit for your night out, if you will. :)

Keep reading for your chance to win our “Night at the Movies” courtesy of the movie!

  1. My nIght out at the movies involves lots of chick friend’s, all piled I’m a car, rolling over to the theater, listening to the ticket seller guy say movie lines in his awesome voice, getting popcorn and dousing it with butter flavored salt, a cherry slurpy and water, and laughing till we cry, riding home, hashing over the movie with my son who greets me at the door after movie night, and doing it all again the next week. Good times! Good times!!

  2. My night at movies involves finding a kid friendly movie first of all. Once we are at the movie my son must have soda and popcorn. A lot of the time, I just enjoy watching him, watching the movie :-)

  3. I usually go with one or both of my sister-in-laws because our husbands only like typical “guy” movies. We share a popcorn because dinner or a snack after the movie is part of the night out. It’s always relaxing and fun :)

  4. I cannot tell you how long it has been since I have been in a actual movie theater, but it probably is more years than you all are. This year at the end of May I will be 50 years of age. Can you believe half a century old? I am actually blown away by this, where did the years go?I usually watch all my Movies such as” Bridesmaids” on DVD!!! I am usually the type of person who will watch a movie several times. I have been ill since 1988 because I had the “original gastric-rouen-y bypass because I weighed 360 pounds and at that time the movie theaters did not make the sits too comfortable and I could not sit comfortable. Now, after a long “laundry” lists of problems from this surgery I now weigh, approximattely 111 pounds dripping wet!!! I am in the Hospital at least once a month and sometimes twice a month, it is absolutely “horrid” because I have been too sick to go anywhere! I have missed so many great Movies over the last years where you can go and get a large buttered popcorn, a large soda and wonderful girlfriends to go with me. Now, my friends are tired of asking me to the movies because as you know the best movies are “chick flicks”… I have been married and divorced since 2006. I was married in 1983. I never had children because I had to a total hysterectomy when I was about 21 or 22 from another illness. I have a AWESOME companion and he does not like going to the movies except for certain ones. We have everything on DVD! When I was in the Hospital my companion brought me a portable DVD player and this is how I watched “Bridesmaids”. I loved the movie so I am sure I would love” The 5-Year Engagement” . I never had a proper engagement party nor a wedding in my life but I do have my soulmate, he is my heart, he is my soul and I love him very much. He has a son who is now an adult and he is married without children, but he does have a cute beagle named Shannon. So, as you can see a long story made very short!! My 50th birthday should not be spent in the Hospital but at the Movies watching “The Five Year Engagement”.. But, if I do not win this contest it does not mean I will not see a AWESOME movie such as this one! I will!!! You never know what tomorrow brings so, do what you can today and hopefully, stay out of the Hospital!! Looking forward to comments. Thanks for reading this and as I said before this is very “condensed” but I do not think I am not asking too much for my 50th birthday!

  5. My night out at movies is all about organizing a ground trip to the theater where we all friends get together have dinner at a restaurant and the watch a late night movie at the most happening theater and then have a stay over at one of friends :) with lots of themed games, activities to make the night enjoyable.

  6. I’d love a night out with my husband at the movies, followed by a nice dessert, maybe Cheesecake Factory.

  7. My husband and I haven’t been to the movies in years, so it would have to be either a comedy or a stephen king horror movie! probably go out for a nice dinner(without kids),drinks and then hit the the movie.

  8. Would love to have a nice relaxing evening with a my co-worker as we always need a good laugh after work!

  9. A movie night for me usually involves me, my fiancé and my daughter. We go out to dinner then head to the movies. We sneak in candy so we don’t have to buy a $10 box of M&M’s but splurge for popcorn, nachos and pretzel nuggets with cheese.

Sit relax and enjoy the show

  10. When my boyfriend and I go to the movies, it is usually a movie we both want to see and we sneak in some drinks and buy popcorn there…b/c nothing can beat movie theater popcorn!

  11. A night out at the movies is usually me with a friend catching the latest romcom and popcorn, of course!

  12. A night at the movies for me is usually myself, my husband and daughters stuffing ourselves with buttery popcorn and pretzel bites.

  13. It doesn’t happen too often – but usually it’s a movie with the boyfriend, then dinner, then back to his place ;)

  14. A great night out at the movies would my hubby will be a movie that has been out for at least two weeks and usually with our theater here in town, we go to that movie and have the whole screening to ourselves. Usually no one shows but us while everyone is seeing the newest hottest thing and it is so romantic with no one but us.

  15. Movie night is usually out for a quick inexpensive meal first so that I don’t get totally carried away with the popcorn! It can be so nice to go to a movie and get away from the phone and the computer for a change.

  16. Usually the only person I go to the movies with is my husband… not sure if he would like this one though. Since I havent yet experienced the joy of planning/having an actual wedding ceremony this would be an interesting movie for me to go see, determine whether I actually missed something or not. lol Idk though I would probably force my husband to go see it with me though and make that the movie we go see on our mandatory date night every week! Probably go to dinner after it and talk about whether we want to actually have a ceremony when we come back from Kuwait or not! lol

  17. Don’t tell the theater…but my favorite thing is to sneak a meal into the movie, and enjoy my dinner while I watch!

  18. My husband and I enjoy the movies. But, we have to watch something funny or exciting, or I fall asleep. This looks funny enough to keep me awake! Thanks for the opportunity!

  19. I love to do dinner and movie with my honey. We just have a blast together and aren’t picky about what to see. Sometimes we like comedy, sometimes drama. I just love going to the movies!

  20. We usually do a movie and get ice cream together! Movies are sooo expensive nowadays, so we have been renting lately… a night out would be great!

  21. Love the classic dinner and a movie theme!
    I’m a sucker for romantic comedies so I’ll probably be on the lookout for a must-see this month. And you can’t go wrong with some yummy Italian afterwards c;

  22. My mom and I love to watch chick flicks together, and we love to just relax by watching something and eating yummy candies and chocolates :)

  23. Although I normally go to the movies with my husband or make it a family affair with the kids, my 4 girlfriends and I make sure we get together every so often for a great flick with some great eats and a drink either before or after the movie. Either way, I love the movies!

  24. I would grab my boyfriend from his house and we would probably walk down to the movie theater. I would make a quick pit stop on the way and grab my favorite movie treat (a giant rice krispie treat). He will get his popcorn and soda and I will sneek a few sips throughout the movie. A blissful date night!

  25. I usually grab a friend and be sure to get there early so we can get a great seat instead of in the first few rows (yuck! had to watch Inception in the 3rd row and it was…not very fun) and can watch all the previews! And then grab some sort of ice cream after

  26. It’s been almost 7 months since Hubby and I went to the movies. We usually eat dinner first at the restaurant next to the theater and then head over to the movies. Can’t wait to see this one!

  27. Me and my frend Lea love going to the movies, Lea is a student she money is pretty tight for her, so we love to catch a cheap movie duing the day and then grab a quick cheap dinner. We have already made plans to see this movie and have been texting about it to each other reagarding this movie. Lea and I call our movie times dates because we are both single.

  28. A girl’s night out at the movies. We’ll have dinner, drinks, and some laughs before the show.
