Fiat Luxe Felted Soap: Undecidedly Clean

Last time I was at Anthropologie, I was browsing the beauty section (of course!) and I noticed these cute little soaps that were in their own little felt housing. I flipped a mental coin and ended up picking this Fiat Luxe Felted Soap in Calendula Citrus but I’m still undecided on whether I like this product or not… let me explain.

Immediately, I loved the idea of  wool surrounding the soap. It claims to be antimicrobial, provide built in exfoliation and if I really wanted to, I could cut it open and use a different soap instead to keep using the wool. That’s nice in theory, right? When I used the soap for the first time, I almost gave up. I had a hell of a time trying to get the soap to lather up, I expected a rich lather and instead I got barely any.

I thought this might be just a first time usage type of thing so I gave it another try. This time the lather was definitely richer (yet still not where I hoped it would be) and the scent was much more noticable the second time around. My skin didn’t feel particularly exfoliated but maybe I need to use it a little bit more and let those pills forming at the bottom do their thing. Yeah,  I’m not sure that I want to stick with it that long.

Have you ever used a felted soap like this? What did you think? I’m trying to make up my mind… maybe I just tried the wrong kind? Let us know in the comments.
