Admittedly, I got quite distracted with Essie’s Braziliant Summer Collection. But for good reason – it was amazing. I’ve been obsessively wearing Too Too Hot on my toes and I’m still enchanted by the sparkly blue Smooth Sailing. Somewhere in that obsession, Essie Resort 2011 slipped right by me. But on the bright side, I’ve found a few new favorites that are carrying me right into fall. Take my word for it, do not let this collection pass you by.
Inspired by the untamed beauty of some of the world’s most remote destinations, these four shades are earthy and sultry. They’re unusual and not what you’d normally expect from a resort collection.
I love the stormy blue grey of Fair Game. I did a double-take with this one, because it so closely resembles Lancome’s Le Gris L’Wren, released last holiday. This may be my favorite of the collection, and I can see myself wearing this all year long. The remaining shades have more of a vacation vibe. Ur Hut or Mine, a glittering golden poppy, is a bright and vibrant shade that gives me that feeling of happy I feel when I’m on vacation. And Da Bush, a sun-drenched khaki green, has the best name of the bunch, don’t you think?
And last, we have Lion Around, an imperial peach that has an irresistible satin shimmer. I’m always happy to find a new pink that is flattering and neutral without being ballet pink. I’m happily welcoming Lion Around into my rotation!
Essie Resort is still dominating the shelves at my Ulta store, so do yourself a favor and check it out before Fall moves in. And if you haven’t been behind on your Essie, share your thoughts on this collection. Any faves?
