I find that Chanel’s summer 2011 collection evokes a fresh feeling. Summer is the time to wear sheer colors and load up on the bronzer — at least for me! There’s a wonderful ease with summer beauty, a time when less really is more. I think that’s why Chanel’s Eyeshadow Quad in Lilium appealed to me. While I don’t normaly gravitate towards light greens, the one in Lilium is sheer with golden undertones.
I’m honestly shocked to be saying this, but I think the light green in here makes the quad. It’s unique to me, and something I wouldn’t opt for in a single. So have a little faith green-phobes, this color works! I like to layer it over a gold base on the lid, or use in the inner corners. I’ve been having fun challenging myself with a new color.
The other three shades are strong as well. The pink has a soft, feminine opalescence and goes with anything. The deep green is beautiful as a liner or smudged around the rims and the purple reminds me of Taupe Gris from Chanel’s Fall 2010 collection.
What do you guys think of Lilium? You feeling the green, or no?
