While I’m on my way to Thanksgiving dinner with my family, I want to wish all my readers in the US a Happy Thanksgiving. I’ll be back tomorrow so until then Happy Thanksgiving!
So remember when I said our Total Beauty Total Cure giveaway was going to be on the 8th? Well the wifi access in Paris threw that out the window and since I’ve been back from Paris, I’ve been sick and dealing with food poisoning so it hasn’t been a great October (excluding the trip!) for me even though I turn 30 today.
To give you an update on our giveaway for the Total Beauty Total Cure campaign, we’ll now be giving away a prize worth $645 this weekend! Stay tuned for more information on how to win the Clarisonic Yours and Mine set and gorgeous pink bag from My Flat in London.
Also, we got a little something planned for next week to help out with fundraising but we’ll talk more about that as we get closer to Monday! For now, I’m going to take it easy, maybe get a mani/pedi and enjoy my birthday.
If you are seeing this message, congratulations! Over the weekend Product Girl has moved to a new server and we are now powered by WordPress. We are all very excited about switching over to this new platform as it allows us to do things with Product Girl that were not possible before. We’ll be introducing new features to the site over the course of the next weeks so please excuse our mess while we work on this. However, if you see a broken image or a bad link, please feel free to leave a comment to let us know. Thank you for your patience with us!
In case you haven’t noticed, things have slowed down here at Product Girl quite a bit. We’ve had a busy summer and it’s been hard trying to keep up everything that’s been going! Because of that, we’re now looking for new writers to contribute to and help manage Product Girl.
Do you love beauty products as much as we do? Then send me an email with a writing sample. We’d love to have you write for Product Girl. Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Basic familiarity with various beauty brands.
- Ability to write in a casual, breezy manner.
- Willingness to test and review beauty products within a specified time frame.
- Ability to contribute 3 to 5 posts per week.
- Interest in helping to manage Product Girl is a plus!
- Knowledge of basic HTML and familiarity with WordPress is a plus!
While this is not a paid position, you’ll get free beauty products and sneak peeks at the newest products in the industry and chances to attend beauty events depending on your location. Also, Product Girl is a great exposure for your writing!
Sometimes I am a little slow to do certain things and setting Product Girl up for social networking is one those things but it’s finally done now!
Billy B has worked with celebrity clients such as Katherine Heigl, Jennifer Lopez and Julia Roberts and now he’s introducing his very own line of makeup brushes. We’ll have the scoop on those as well as talk to Billy B about the latest makeup trends, application tips and ask him your beauty questions. Have you ever wanted to pick a makeup artist’s brain? I know I have so here’s your chance to do just that.
From now until Friday, we’ll be taking your questions and will include them in our interview with Billy B. To ask a question, just submit your question in the comments section. Stay tuned! You may see your questions posted here.
What do you get when you have me trying to perform a memory upgrade on my own computer? You get a busted computer. I got a little ambitious over the holiday weekend and tried to install some memory in my computer, I guess I was inspired by the deal I got. While I was trying to disconnect everything, I somehow messed up the cord to my monitor (the one that doesn’t come out) and my computer seems to be stuck in DOS mode now. Moral of the story, I’m out of commission for a little while but I’ll be back as soon as I can.
In the meantime, let’s pretend you have the chance to ask a world renowned makeup artist any question you would like. What would you ask? Here’s your chance. We’ll give you more details on this when we’re back in full operating mode but for now, leave a comment and ask a question. You may see you’re question answered here soon.
In case you didn’t notice, we’re taking a little mini break from Product Girl this week. This past Memorial Day has left us a little tired so we’re taking some much needed rest and relaxation. We’ll be back to kick off the week on Sunday with new products from Tarte, Duwop, Jelly Pong Pong, Vincent Longo and more.
In the meantime, we’re still looking for new contributors to participate in our blog. If you have contacted us about this before, please do try again as some technical issues have prevented me from replying. They are all resolved now so it’s full steam ahead. If you’re a beauty product addict, Product Girl is the perfect outlet to channel that addiction. Feel free to leave a comment or email me.
If you’re visiting Product Girl this weekend and things seem a little bit off, don’t worry… we’re fixing it. We’ll be moving the site to a new host and things will be look a little different while we work out the kinks. The move should be complete in 48 hours and content is mirrored on both servers so there shouldn’t be a problem. In addition, permalinks to posts will change to a new structure. If you have something in particular bookmarked, please update your bookmarks with the new link. If you’re looking for something particular in the meantime, use the search tool to the left.
Also, if you’re interested in contributing to Product Girl, comment on this entry. We’re always looking for new beauty addicts who want to share their love of makeup.
I know it’s been awhile since a new podcast episode has come out but there will be one soon. The technical difficulties I experienced are now resolved and I’m hoping to release a new episode next week, hopefully on Monday. I will be releasing new podcast episodes on Monday now, I don’t know why I thought Friday would be better.
Also, I am making some changes with Product Girl this week. I am moving the blog to a different server but before I actually “flip the switch”, I will be mirroring content on both servers so there will not be any downtime. If you experience any difficulty, please keep in mind this blog will be in transition during that time. I will post and update once I actually complete the change. When the blog comes back, I plan on coming back bigger and better than before. I apologize, I’ve been in a funk lately but I’m coming out of it and there’s a lot of stuff I want to talk about. Not to mention the great posts from Colleen and Ashley, more of those are on the way.
Finally, I would love for more people to come aboard and help contribute to Product Girl. If you’re interested in posting or contributing to the podcast, please or leave a comment on this entry. We would love to hear from you.
