Since I’m on an Estee Lauder high, I might as well post about this product as well. I usually like to space these things out and mix it up a bit but what the hell. I have a very big soft spot for MAC’s Mineralize Skin Finishes so when I saw Estee Lauder’s Platinum Illuminator, I knew immediately that I wanted to try it.

This product is very different from the Azuree collection’s Face Highlighter. That product is a little tricky to work with because it’s very easy to put on too much product in one swoop and this product is the exact opposite… it takes some effort to over do an application. The trick is to use the right brush, I prefer to use a brush like this one. The product really grabs on the synthetic fibers in the brush and helps create a gorgeous glow. It’s not too dark and not too light, the color is just right and this can work on any skin tone. Since this product is also limited edition, I learned that you don’t want to take a powder or blush brush and work it over the surface, that just wastes product. My fingers are crossed that this product will one day be a permanent product.

Tom Ford is back with the follow up to his summer Azuree collection with Amber Nude, which will debut at Estee Lauder counters everywhere this September. This collection is being re-released this year with new shades and with last year’s limited edition products.

Having missed out on last year’s Amber Nude collection and becoming a born again Estee Lauder fan this year, this collection has me excited. True beauty aficionados will appreciate this collection. With its amber jeweled compacts and lipstick cases, these products are almost little pieces of beauty couture.

This 14 pieces collection includes lipstick, lip polish, bronzer, nail lacquer, eye gloss, face gloss, a brush and a minaudiere. The lipstick is rich and creamy, it smells great as well. It’s laced with the sweet smell of vanilla and fig, just like their High Gloss. Spiced Amber is a soft brown with a touch of copper, this will be a great fall lip color. An abundance of pigment in a product is usually a good thing but a lack of it, can also be a good thing at times. The bronzer in this collection is one of those cases. It’s not overly pigmented, which allows for a light application, one you can gradually build on.  Of course the compact is gorgeous as well. I thought of Cavewoman’s compact collection when I saw this, this is a great compact to start my collection with. I also got a chance to play with the brush in this collection, it’s very similar to MAC’s newly permanent 182 brush. It’s great to apply bronzer with but it’s also fantastic to buff powders and pigment onto your skin. I used this brush with liquid foundation and loved the results this brush gave me.

This is just an introduction to the products I got to play with, there’s lots more to explore including the face and eye glosses. I’m looking forward to playing with these myself, maybe even the nail lacquer if I stop biting my nails by then. Aren’t these cute? Estee Lauder’s Pure Color Eyeshadows remind me of ice cubes, only these faux ice cubes have a great color payoff. Estee Lauder’s eyeshadows come in different finishes, from matte to high pearl and all of these shadows are rich and well pigmented. I have developed a liking to this lines matte shadows in particular. Of course since it is a matte finish, their pigmentation is incredible. I barely  touch my brush on the eyeshadow and I have plenty to work with. My favorites are Onyx and Cinnamon, a rich matte black and a light brown pearl. Now I know why Estee Lauder is having a hard time stocking these shadows.

I have experimented a bit with different foundations and I tend to rotate them as well. Although, sometimes I prefer to wear something a bit sheerer than usual… like today, when the temperature will get as high as 94. Estee Lauder’s Individualist Natural Finish Makeup lives up to it’s name and gives me the natural finish that I’m looking for.

This foundation is really easy to work with, it’s even good to use with your fingers. I can just pat it on with my fingertips and away I go. It’s very light and spreads around like a dream, just a little of this can go a long way. I love that I can wear this and it doesn’t look like I have a lot on, it’s almost like this is what my skin should look like if I wasn’t wearing foundation. A girl can dream I guess.

A few blogs have raved about this product already but I thought I’d mention this product as well. I ♥ this lip gloss. I mentioned this lip gloss in my podcast earlier this week but it was the only product I wasn’t able to find a link for. That’s because this is not available online and you can only find it at your local Estee Lauder counter.

What makes this lip gloss good? Well, as Annie said, it smells amazing. It reminds me of the Strawberry Shortcake dolls I had growing up as a kid. Annie said it’s vanilla and fig, I had no idea idea that could smell this good. I might have to try and find some perfume oils with this scent now, this smells so deliciously sweet. Wearing this gloss is such a decadent treat for your lips. It goes with ease and does not goop up when you reapply it. Add to that the amazing array of beautiful colors. There is something for everyone in this collection.
