The Zoya Stunning Summer 2013 Collection has been in regular nail rotation around Product Girl headquarters lately. While I was away, it sat quietly on my desk just waiting for someone to play with it for the first few weeks. First I noticed a shade missing from the bunch, then another one went missing and before I knew it, the whole collection had disappeared… and with good reason, it is gorgeous. You gals know I love a good creme polish and this whole collection is the embodiment of creme summer hotness in six bottles.
I really love Zoya’s approach to releasing new collections. They usually release 2-part collections, one with cremes and another with metallic or shimmers, whatever is on trend for the coming season. Normally I’m “meh” about metallic shades so I have come to count on Zoya for my creme fix and they delivered once again with Stunning. This collection is a favorite of mine for this season because all six shades are perfect for summer but I can see myself wearing most of these shades throughout the year in one way or another.
As I was trying on this collection, I became inspired to do something I never, ever, ever do… attempt to create some nail art (keep reading to see the look I created). These shades lend themselves so well to this. Darcy, the yellow in this collection, is not a shade I would typically wear on its own but I can see it becoming a staple in my new-found effort to be a nail artiste.
Spring collections are finally upon us and I have to admit, I’m always a sucker for all the creamy pastel shades…I always pick up a few new ones each spring even though I probably already have something similar. The new Zoya Lovely collection brings us new creamy and metallic pastel shades to fawn over.
Spring is awash in six soft and lovely new Zoya shades including three dewy metallics and three fresh blooms of cream. Poetic in nature, this collection is sure to capture the beauty of the season like no other….
Piaf – Fresh Forsythia Yellow Metallic
GeiGei – Blushing Cherry Blossom Pink Metallic
Julie – Soft Wisteria Purple Metallic
Blu – Lucky Hyacinth Blue Cream
Neely – Earliest Spring Green Cream
Jacqueline – Perfect Magnolia Nude Cream
The collection is available online now and shades retails for $8 each. Any shades you’re coveting this spring?

My nails are badly in need of some professional attention right now but I’m trying to hide that with some color since I haven’t had a chance to get to the salon just yet. This week my helper is Zoya Paloma.
Paloma is part of the Zoya NYFW 2012 Gloss collection, it is one of three jelly finish shades in the collection. As a jelly lover, I was excited to see Zoya focus on jellies. Frida and Katherine, the other gals in the collection, are deep teal and plum jellies. As for Paloma, she is a deep berry in the bottle but on the nail is a beautiful raspberry. I loved that I only needed 2 coats to get the opacity that I wanted so it fairly well pigmented for a jelly. There is still a hint of my nail lines visible but the rich, syrup like finish is very much there.
What’s on your nails this week? Tell us all about it in the comments! And by the way, there’s still time for Zoya’s Back to School BOGO!
We need you to help rock the vote for us in the Birchbox + Zoya nail polish sweeps. We created a mood board with our color inspiration for spring and summer, along with 11 other fabulous bloggers, and the top three winning mood boards will be turned into a Zoya Nail Polish that will be sold exclusively via Birchbox.
Our Mood Board is all about Papaya. A delicious blend of orange and pink. Don’t you just want to wear this shade everywhere — shoes, shorts, cheeks, and of course, NAILS?!
Voting is open now for one week, and you can vote once a day! We’d love if you could show Product Girl Papaya some love! Click here to vote on the Birchbox Facebook page. By voting, you’re also automatically entered to win the entire collection.
Zoya is introducing a fresh bloom of dewy color for Spring 2012, with the True and Fleck Effects collections. Inspired by the runway looks of top designers, True features slightly muted and unexpected (for spring) shades in six full-coverage creams and metallics.
Cho – vanilla shimmer metallic
Farah- latte beige cream
Bevin – pale sage green cream
Skylar – silvered slate blue metallic
Tru – gilded purple orchid metallic
Lotus – light lotus purple metallic
Zoya is also introducing Fleck Effects, a trio of mylar fleck top coats. The fleck glazes can be worn alone or layered over the True collection colors.
Maisie – Blue tint with mylar green fleck effect
Opal - Green tint with mylar green fleck effect
Chloe - Pink tint with mylar green and gold fleck effect
Zoya True and Fleck Effects will be available January 13, 2012.
I’m ready to give this week’s manicure, featuring Zoya Izzy, the title of official color of holiday 2011. I wish I could wrap all of my Christmas presents in this exact shade of nail polish. It looks like fuschia metal! How cool is that? So cool that I think I need the other two shades in Zoya’s Gems and Jewels Holiday Collection. These are straight up party in a bottle. While I meticulously change my mani every Sunday while watching The Good Wife (last night’s ep — SO good), I think even I may have to do a mid-week change next week and reapply this in time for my office holiday party. The month of December was just made for colors like Zoya Izzy.
This tiny bottle was a nice surprise in my November Birchbox! We know many of you subscribe. Did you get this shade, too? It may look unassuming in the bottle, but once you get it on, PARTY time.
Happy Thanksgiving-eve, all! I’m so thankful for Thanksgiving, truly. Turkey, sides (really, I can’t just pick one camp) and of course, Black Friday preparation. I OWN my love of Black Friday shopping. I could write a thesis on how it’s actually one of the best days to shop all year. Stores are prepared for you! That said, I will not be a midnight shopper, but likely a 6am shopper. We’d be interested to know where you stand on the issue. Now, onto this week’s holiday gift picks!
Amika Leopard Mini Ceramic Styler - Usually mini hair devices are major flops in the performace department, but not this styler from Amika. It’s essentially the same as their full-size version, just mini. It uses the same infrared heat and negative ion technology, and heats up to 400 degrees. Perfect for travel! Is that matching carrying case not the cutest thing you’ve ever seen? The price is GREAT too at $25. Available at Sephora.
Zoya Feel Collection – During the holidays, I’m all about sparkle, shimmer and rich colors on my nails. But come January, I want some warm and cozy neutrals to match my post-holiday mood. I would love to see any of these neutrals from Zoya’s new winter “Feel” collection in my stocking! The sampler would be a great buy so you can divide up for gifts (and keep a shade or two for yourself!) Available at Zoya.
Madewell Furry Earmuffs - Adorable AND cozy. These are impossibly cute, and practical. Sadly, they are also getting hard to find. They’re sold out on Madewell.com, so if these are on your gift list too, find a store stat! Available at Madewell for $39.
Stephanie Johnson Lima Purple Essentials – These are among the best makeup bags ever! And I’m enamored with the faux purple python finish of this collection. The ML Traveler is my go-to travel bag, and a gift I love to give. Available at Stephanie Johnson, $42-$82.
We’ll be back next week with more gift ideas. Happy Thanksgiving to all, and a “good luck” if you too venture out on Black Friday!
Another mani Monday, another fabulous nude nail polish. I keep alternating between bold brights and barely there polishes, and it’s working for me. But Zoya Pandora, from the Touch Collection, brings something different to the table: a metallic twist and complete opacity. We’re talking about a one coat nude nail polish here, ladies! That almost never happens (but because I’m a creature of habit, I used two coats). Zoya’s Touch Collection is all about creating a perfect nude polish, that looks as it does in the bottle on the nails.
The other two shades, Minka and Shay, also have a metallic finish. It’s intended to make these that much more wearable, and I totally appreciate that because I think it does make all of the difference. Pandora is a cool medium beige nudes with mauve undertones and silver shimmer. I absolutely love it. I also love the cute little bottle — a Zoya mini from the July Birchbox. We know many of you subscribe — what Zoya Touch shade did you get? And do you love it as well?
Last but not least for tonight’s nail polish posting, Zoya’s Smoke and Mirrors collection. This collection has 12 new shades for fall, 6 of them smoky, sultry creams and the other 6 smoky, sultry metallics. Can you guess which team I’m on? While I may be Team Smoke, all you metallic lovers out there will be happy with the Mirrors portion of the collection.
