Sneak Peak! New Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Sin

Friday night I stopped off at Sephora to pick up a few things and while I was paying for my purchase, I saw something interesting in a flyer so I just had to bring it home and scan it to show you all:

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Sin

Urban Decay will be releasing their beloved Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Sin, also one of the most beloved eyeshadows. This new version of the product gives lids a soft champagne shimmer that can be worn alone or used as a base. Look for it to launch this month first to Sephora Beauty Insiders.

Does this mean Eyeshadow Primer Potion in other shades are in our future? Let’s hope so!

A New Super Sized Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion

Urban Decay Urban Essentials Set Urban Decay’s Eyeshadow Primer Potion is a cult favorite among beauty addicts everywhere and now Urban Decay is giving us 60% more Eyeshadow Primer Potion in their new Urban Decay Urban Essentials Set.

This new set features a bigger version of Urban Decay’s Eyeshadow Primer Potion with twice as much product and 2 of their most popular eyeshadows in Goddess (a shimmering midnight blue) and Midnight Cowboy (a golden beige) for $39. You can find it online at Urban Decay’s website.

Now I know that Urban Decay’s Eyeshadow Primer Potion doesn’t always let you get the most usage out of the product and we’ve found ways around that.

This is tempting though, very, very tempting… :)

One Fabulous Product, Two Ways

Urban Decay Primer Potion We mentioned this product before but
Urban Decay’s Eye shadow Primer Potion does exactly what it promises and then some. The bottle is reminiscent of your favorite lip gloss – a small bottle with sponge-tip applicator. I applied the peachy flesh-toned potion to my eyelid and let it dry before applying my favorite MAC eye shadow. I was actually alarmed at how bright my colors appeared and noticed that I had to use less eye shadow to achieve the same look I had before, but I actually achieved brighter with truer color. After faithfully using it as a shadow primer I had an epiphany this morning. I decided to mix the potion with a black eye shadow and apply with a flat brush as an eye liner. The result was phenomenal – a soft, bendable line which stayed put for hours on end.

Baked On Bronze

I saw this in Sephora on Wednesday and I couldn’t resist picking it up, even though bronzers are not my thing. Leave it to Urban Decay to come up with something like this. I wish they showed this packaged on their site.

Urban Decay Baked When I picked up Urban Decay’s Baked, I couldn’t help but smile. This product is a bronzer named “Baked” and it’s packaging includes a tinfoil cupcake holder. How cute is that? I love the play on words and packaging Urban Decay came up with here.

“Baked” is more than a name in this case, this bronzer is also baked. This makes for a more refined powder. It can be applied dry with a brush or wet with a sponge making a sheer cream with the bronzer for a deeper, tanned look. I applied this with my skunk brush and the product went on lightly and blended well. I’m a little apprehensive when it comes to using bronzers, because I’ve intentionally avoided them for so long but I liked the look this product gave me. It was like I took a cat nap in the sun and my skin was sun kissed. This product comes in two shades and I picked up Baked, a peachy-bronze with gold shimmer. The other shade is Toasted, which is a matte bronze. In this case, I’d say go for the shimmer.

The Return of Deluxe Eye Shadow

Urban Decay Deluxe Eyeshadows In September, I talked about how much I liked Urban Decay’s Deluxe Eyeshadow. In that entry, Laura Kenney, Sephora’s Beauty Editor, mentioned that Urban Decay would be coming out with 3 more neutral shades and 1 saturated purple in the spring. Now imagine how excited I was I saw that my Sephora actually had these eyeshadows displayed. I. Was. Very. Excited.

The new shades are just gorgeous. I was initially excited about getting my hands on some new everyday shades, not even thinking about the new shade of purple. Upon seeing the beautiful purple shade called Ransom, I changed my mind… it’s just a stunning color. You can see it here to the left, it’s the shade on top. The other shades are beautiful as well. I was expecting some neutral matte color but I should have known better, instead we were given 3 wonderfully rich and shimmery shades of bronze, soft brown and peach. You can see them on the left as well, in order: Shag, Underground and Scratch. I can’t wait until Urban Decay releases more of these eyeshadows.

Another Year Gone By

I didn’t know that I would be taking such a long break from this blog when I published my last entry but that’s how it ended up working out, it’s just something that happened. However, I’m coming back now and what better way than to let you know about my favorite things for 2006? All the cool kids are doing it. :)

Favorite Things for 2006

Here are a few of my favorites products I discovered this year, my six for ’06…

perfectveil.jpg From the moment I smelled this perfume, it was love at first sniff. I love powdery scents and this is a great everyday scent for me. It features base notes of musk, vanilla and sandalwood. It also features top notes of lemon and bergamot. All of these notes work beautifully together. This scent has lead me to try more of Creative Scentualization’s perfumes and I’m already hooked. You can find Perfect Veil at La Creme Beauty.

Vincent Longo Lip and Cheek Gel Stain I’m all about low maintenance beauty and this is one of my all time favorite products. I only discovered it this year and it’s replaced every other lip stain I have. Cupid’s Breath and Liquid Kiss are my favorite shades, both are variations of red. The color of your lips can be as low-key or intense as you want it to be, this product provides great buildable color. You can find Vincent Longo’s Lip & Cheek Gel Stain at Sephora.

Philosophy's Soul Owner I can’t thank Colleen enough for mentioning this product to me. This product contains glycolic acid and actually exfoliates all the icky dead skin on your feet. Try slathering this on your feet and cover them up with some nice thick socks for a few nights straight and you’ll be amazed when you finally take a rasp to your feet. You can find Philosophy’s Soul Owner at Sephora.

Product Body Whipped Shea Butter This is the product that inspired me to try and make my own whipped shea butter. It’s the best I have ever tried… it’s not greasy, has a nice texture to it and smelled so good that I almost wanted to lick myself. You can find Product Body’s Whipped Shea Butter at Product Body.

Duwop Ice I seem to be drawn to highlighting products, this one was no exception. I love the lovely pink glow that this product gives my skin. In a sea of gold or silver based highlighters, a pink highlighter with hints of blue is a refreshing change. It’s opened my mind to other highlighting possibilities. You can find Duwop’s Ice at Sephora.

Urban Decay Eye Shadow Being a girl with a love for eyeshadow, I couldn’t leave this one off my list. I love everything about these eyeshadows… the bold colors, texture, pigmentation and presentation. What’s not to like? I cannot wait until new shades come out in spring, including new neutral colors. You can find Urban Decay’s Deluxe Eyeshadow at Sephora.

I’ll be back on January 1st with new product reviews and news on upcoming makeup collections including the new MAC Cosmetics Raquel Welch Beauty Icon collection. Until then, stay safe and Happy New Year!

High Voltage Eyes with Deluxe Eyeshadow

I like to think of Urban Decay as that friend who I admire for her boldness and bravado with her makeup, the one who can pull of hot pink eyeshadow and make it look hot. These new Deluxe Eyeshadows only make me admire her even more.

Urban Decay Deluxe Eyeshadow If the artistic packaging doesn’t catch your eye, then the colors will. This eyeshadow collection features the boldest colors I have seen in a long time. The vivid colors caught my attention and reeled me in… hook, line and sinker. I ended up getting Heat and Honey, a rich orange-red and a rich gold. Packaging aside, the texture of these eyeshadows is soft, they are easy to work with and blend and they are super pigmented as well. I put on a little Eyeshadow Primer Potion as a base and I have on eyeshadow that goes the distance. While these eyeshadows are a bit more expensive than their other eyeshadows, you get quite a bit more product for the price and a completely different formula. I love playing around with Heat, a little bit of this in the crease reminds of me sunset.

Ink for Your Lips

Udnakedink

When I heard Sephora had it’s own line of  Lip Markers cheaper than the one I love by Stila, I raced to the website and checked them out. In addition to these, I also found Urban Decay’s Ink. Once I saw them in person, I found really didn’t like Sephora’s color choices. They were all too bold for my taste. With this one on the other hand, people come to expect bold color from Urban Decay. I tested a color called Naked and loved it, it would give me that just bitten look I’ve been looking for. Another good thing about this product, even better than Stila’s, is the applicator. It’s not dainty and it does a good job of applying a fair amount of this product. I couldn’t ask for anything more… this one is permanently in my purse from now on.

Genie in a Bottle

Udprimerpotion_1 If you have a problem with eye shadow creasing, this product is for you. Urban Decay’s Eye Primer Potion is awesome stuff. I use this everytime I put on eyeshadow, it’s a must. It acts as a base but also keeps your eyeshadow from creasing all day long. It goes on in a creamy nude color but dissapears once it dries. Not only does it help prevent creasing but it also helps colors appear more vibrant.

The only thing I’d change on this product is the packaging, it’s hard to tell when you’re running out and that’s a bit of a drawback… but one we’ll live with. :)
