Urban Decay 24/7 15 Year Anniverary Collection, Better Luck Next Year

Photo Source: Urban Decay on Facebook

Does the sight of 15 full-sized Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliners get you excited? We definitely lit up when we first saw this photo! Urban Decay is turning 15 in 2011, and to celebrate, is releasing this set of 15 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils. All are stamped with “UD15” and the set includes six new shades and pretty much all of our favorites! The new shades sound thrilling, a few include Asphyxia, Stray Dog and Perversion — a blacker-than-Zero-black.

But alas, better luck next time, or year, as this sold out instantly this morning when Urban Decay unveiled it for Cyber Monday and won’t be available again until January 2011. It retails for $92, which is incredible given everything together would actually cost $264.

Were you one of the lucky ones that seized this opportunity or are you like us and are anxiously awaiting its return?!

New! Urban Decay Urbanglow Cream Highlight

I don’t know if you noticed but I have drawers full of highlighting products in in my stash, I have weakness for any kind of face product with a shimmer in it… especially if it’s a cream. The newest cream highlighter to hit shelves is Urban Decay’s Urbanglow Cream Highlight. You can use it on chisel out some cheekbones, highlight your brow bone or make your lips pouty by dabbing a little bit on your cupid’s bow.

Urbanglow comes in 4 universally flattering shades and retails for $24, not bad for a compact full of radiance. You can find it on sale in Macy’s, Sephora, Ulta and online at macys.com, sephora.com, ulta.com, beauty.com and urbandecay.com. Let us know what you think if you pick one up!

Breaking News: Urban Decay Greed Eyeshadow Primer Potion

I love unexpected good news on a Friday afternoon, don’t you too?  Today’s news bite comes courtest of Urban Decay — a new eyeshadow primer potion has entered the fold, and it goes by the name Greed! Shown above on the far left in the new “Little Sins Eyeshadow Primer Potion” set, Urban Decay’s Greed Primer Potion is a warm, pearly gold. From the swatch below (from Urban Decay’s Facebook page), Greed is the warm, gold cousin to Sin’s cool, icy champagne.

After the excitement I experienced with Eden, I welcome Greed with open arms! I love a warm gold on the lids and this seems like it would be the perfect base to those smokey browns I’ve been obsessing over lately. What about you guys, are you excited about Greed?

A Day at the Beach, Product Girl Style

If there’s one thing I am determined to do over the 4th of July weekend it is to get some sun. I’ll be visiting my parents in Wisconsin, and I plan on going to the beach. Naturally, this involves lots of sunscreen. Both Carla and I are in the pale category, and while I don’t burn easily, I am careful to protect my skin. I’m actually still affected from that one time in college I went snowboarding in California and got the worst sunburn of my life on my face. My nose has never been the same. Seriously. My nose could get sunburnt from my office lamp.

So in addition to the SPF, here’s a day at the beach, Product Girl style.

When I know I’m going to be swimming or be active at the beach, I purposefully don’t wear much makeup. But I still need something to help even out my skin tone. Urban Decay Urban Defense Tinted Moisturizer is perfect to apply over my sunscreen. It has SPF 20,  but I recommend more if you’re exposed to the sun (of course!) It’s light coverage and gives me that feeling of being polished without really wearing makeup.

My face is shielded from the sun 99.9 percent of the time, so it’s not exactly bursting with color. Normally I would just go without bronzer, but Tarte Cosmetics introduced my favorite bronzer, Park Ave Princess, in a matte, waterproof version. And it truly is waterproof – check out Gouldylox’s Review for proof. Score! Now I can be visibly bronzed while secretly pale underneath at the beach.

I don’t have freckles on my face or body, but I have several lip freckles and they drive me totally nuts. The sun tends to make them darker so I usually layer all sorts of balms on them. But Bobbi Brown Treatment Lip Shine SPF 15 is a fresh alternative! It imparts color (quite a bit!), shine and sun protection. They’re lovely.

I’ve been using Garnier’s Triple Nutrition Nutrient Spray for about a few weeks now and I’m obsessed! It’s a blend of olive, avocado and shea oils and can be used on dry or damp hair. It’s truly weightless and I can really tell the difference when I use it. I use it about halfway through my blow dry in the morning and my hair feels so silky the rest of the day. It’s perfect for the beach to help combat dryness.

I usually carry around a small soft cooler with me to keep my beverages cold. And this time, I’ll also be storing my Bath & Body Works Cooling Mist in Deep Aqua. It is so refreshing, especially when its ice cold. It contains aloe and is an overall great blast of hydration. Plus, it smells fantastic and let’s be honest, sweat happens at the beach.

So those are the products I’m toting around for a day at the beach. What about you, any must-haves? Let us know! And we also wish you a safe and happy 4th of July holiday!

New! Urban Decay Naked Palette

Urban Decay is pulling out all the stops this fall. The Urban Decay Naked Palette is what dreams are made of! This literally has everything I could ever want in a neutral palette. The Naked Palette by the numbers:  $44, 12 full-size eye shadows + 1 mini Primer Potion + 2 24/7 Glide-On Pencils = one fantastic deal!

I didn’t quite act fast enough though. It launched Tuesday on UrbanDecay.com and it’s already sold out. But have no fear, it will be back (permanently we think) and according to the Sephora blog, it’ll be available online July 8. Hopefully some of  you were able to snatch this up yesterday. Let us know!

Must-Have: Urban Decay Primer Potion – Eden

Oh Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways:

  • Your genie bottle is silky soft to the touch
  • Your matte yellow-nude color neutralizes my eyelids and brightens up the lid
  • You hold eyeshadows hostage — until I remove my makeup and never before
  • I can even wear you on your own — why cover up your beauty with extra layers?
  • Of your primer potion siblings, Original and Sin, you stand out like a shining star

Urban Decay’s latest primer potion in Eden is available exclusively at Sephora for $18. I absolutely love the Eden primer – and cannot recommend this product enough!

Urban Decay Ink for Eyes

You’d be hard-pressed to find a person who doesn’t love Urban Decay’s 24/7 liners. The color selection and smudge- and budge-proof quality are why I love them. But I’ve been showing love to another Urban Decay liner lately – the creamy Ink for Eyes.

I’ve been using Demolition, a chocolate brown shade, and I’ve kind of got the warm and fuzzies for it. First, the product. It’s very creamy and soft, which is likely from the “secret ingredient” of Nylon 12, which helps give it that soft, drag-free application and absorb any excess oil. No joke, this stuff feels so good when you apply. It’s easy to use, buildable and while it isn’t extremely pigmented, I’ve encountered no issues with streaky color.

Next, the packaging. It’s a long, thin case with a full-length mirror and equipped with a double-ended brush which I actually use. I hardly ever use the brushes included in palettes – but the angled liner brush works like a charm and the smudger is surprisingly high quality as well. Kudos to Urban Decay for making every bit of this product usable!

Now for the wear. I think primer is essential – but for me, primer is a must with any product on the lid. For some that’s an extra step but it’s just daily routine for this gal. I’ve mostly been wearing Demolition smudged along the top lash line and I’ve experienced no creasing. This isn’t a waterproof liner, but it does stay put and doesn’t noticeably fade.

I’m eager to try other colors. I think this is a worthy cream liner and a good addition to my makeup bag. Anyone else have any experience with the Ink for Eyes? Do tell!

Urban Decay Show Pony Shadow Box

urban-decay-show-pony-set

The teenage girl in my family practically squealed when she saw that I had Urban Decay’s Show Pony Shadow Box. She was giving me serious googly eyes trying to sweet talk this one out of my hands. Maybe she thought a woman in her 30s doesn’t need such a gorgeous set in her arsenal…she’s wrong though! :)

Perfect to give as a gift (or to keep for yourself!), Urban Decay’s Show Pony Shadow Box includes 6 gorgeous, shimmering eyeshadows, a 24/7 Eye Pencil in Zero and a trial size Eyeshadow Primer Potion. The eyeshadows include:

  • Snatch – shimmering peach

  • Painkiller – shimmering turquoise
  • Smog – brone
  • Toasted – copper

These eyeshadows are just what you would expect from Urban Decay, packed with tons of pigment and blend super well. Plus this palette lets you have some fun with color and tone it down if you need to. Gorgeous!
