I had hope that it wouldn’t, but winter has arrived. It’s the coldest morning of the season (at least in Chicago — brrr!). What more appropriate time to talk spring? The thrill of using a brand new eye shadow palette is a feeling I crave. And spring beauty gives me something to look foward to – like actual spring weather! Here are a few palettes in particular that have captivated our early attention.

Christian Dior once said, “After women, flowers are the most heavenly creation.” So it makes sense that the brand’s spring 2012 collection, Garden Party, is inspired by the garden he created in the cliffs of Normandy. And just LOOK at these eyeshadow palettes. The 5-Couleurs Garden Edition palettes ($59 each) in Garden Pastels and Garden Roses are stunning. I think the greens in the Pastels look so wearable. And the intricate pattern is beautiful.

Bobbi Brown’s Ultra Nude Eye Palette ($45) from the upcoming Neons and Nudes collection is classic Bobbi. I’ve long loved her classic nude eyshadows, and this contains six of the best ((Stone, Chino, Pink Chandelier, Praline, Champagne, and Cocoa Berry.) Pair any of these shadows with a bright neon lip, per Bobbi’s instructions, and you’re set for spring.

The Smashbox “Be Discovered” palette ($44) includes eight shadows (six shimmer + two matte) that give you endless options. I love the bronzey neutrals, but the shimmery purple is what caught my eye most. Like all Smashbox palettes, there’s not a lemon in the bunch!
Anything catch your eye? If you could splurge on just one, which would it be?
