I’ve been obsessing over Jin Soon’s latest collection for a little while though, those shades are completely on point for this season and I’m hardcore coveting all of them. Just in time for the unofficial start of the summer season, Jin Soon’s created a great look for your digits for this Memorial Day using shades from her recent collaboration with Gweneth Paltrow’s Goop.
The best thing about this design? Even the most novice nail artist can totally achieve this look with no problem at all.
Step 1: Apply a base coat like JINsoon Power Coat
Step 2: Apply JINsoon Doux
Step 3: Using a striping brush, create slight waves with JINsoon Cool Blue diagonally from the left to the right side of the nail. Vary the thickness so one side is thicker than the other. You can do this by slightly applying more pressure with the brush as you draw the line.
Step 4: Using JINsoon Kookie White, mimic the line from Step 3 right below it
Step 5: Repeat Step 4 using JINsoon Coquette
Step 6: Apply a top gloss like JINsoon Top Gloss
You got this, right? Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
Why is it that when you bite all your nails off, you suddenly want to get all artistic with them? I saw this design from Jin Soon Choi, founder of the JINsoon line, and instantly wanted to reach for some nail polish but alas… I have no nails to speak of at this moment, but I will soon. 😉
As summer comes to an end, Jin Soon Choi gives an Impressionistic nod to the blue waves of summer with a simple, DIY design. Here’s how you can create this look:
- Apply a base coat like JINsoon Power Coat
- Apply JINsoon Cool Blue to the entire nail
- Apply an irregular wavy line of JINsoon Poppy Blue diagonally across the nail
- Apply JINsoon Blue Iris and JINsoon Kookie White the same way, alternating the order and size of the line.
- Finish with a glossy top coat like JINsoon Top Gloss
Expert Tip: Don’t be afraid to smudge/touch the color you applied previously— it’s part of the look!
JINsoon’s Blue Iris is one of the most beautiful blues I have ever seen and one of those shades you just have to see in person to appreciate, it’s hard to capture such a gorgeous shade like this with a lens. Her entire line is amazing and you can find it online and in SpaceNK stores.
Just in time for the holiday weekend, Jin Soon Choi, founder of the infamous JINsoon line, has shared 2 nail art looks to get your nails in tip-top, patriotic shape for the 4th of July.
The looks feature her signature shades and if you haven’t tried her line yet, you’re missing out. She has collaborated with Revlon and MAC in the past and went on to create her own line with unique shades that have a great formula. She absolutely kills it with blues. If you haven’t visited her site yet, make sure to stop by and look at her nail art tutorials. My favorite is the V-Shape tutorial. She creates looks that are gorgeous yet seem completely approachable.

From the moment I first saw glimpses of Jin Soon’s Blue Iris, I knew I had to have it. I ordered it from Space NK (where the a La Mode collection is exclusive) and shortly after receiving it, I ordered the rest of the collection. I was completely smitten…and I don’t even like blues that much! From that moment on, I was in a panic to get my hands on as much Jin Soon goodness as I could.
Blue Iris is stunning in the bottle where are all of its cobalt goodness is concentrated. When I started applying it, I worried that it was too good to be true as it seemed a little streaky. By the time I applied my second coat and followed it up with my new Jin Soon top coat, my fears went away. The formula is reminiscent of a jelly without the sheer coverage. This shade is simply stunning in person; vivid and jewel-like. This blue has made me re-think my whole blue philosophy.
The whole a La Mode collection is beautiful and when paired together, forget about it…it’s game over. Like I said, I went in for Blue Iris and came away with the whole collection. This was my first Jin Soon purchase but definitely not the last.
So, what’s on your nails this week?
