Whenever I think of this set, I think of Time Life infomercials for their classic rock CD sets. The words “solid like a rock” stay in my head. I normally wouldn’t pick this set up on my own but since I got some Sephora gift cards for my birthday recently, why not?
At first glance, the Bare Escentuals Classic Rock Flawless Diamond Collection seems like an interesting set. It’s got gloss, eyeshadows, blush, all over color, mascara and brushes all in a faux leather bag. While the bag was a disappointment for me (the color was rubbing off right out of the box!), the rest of the set was not.
I love the brushes in this set, especially the Full Flawless Face brush. It’s big and fluffy, a lot softer than I remember Bare Escentuals brushes being. They also have a cute little faux diamond on the handle. I’m glad I bought the set just for those. The gloss is nice as well with it’s texture and is great to top off a lip stain with. I’ve never tried their eyeshadows until now but it looks good so far. The Classic Rock shade reminds me of Laura Mercier’s Mineral Eye Powder in Milky Way. Only it doesn’t seem as intense or metallic. The only item I’m not so sure of is the dual mascara. It seemed that the glitter in it was just a little too thick but this may mean I just need a little more practice with it.
Overall, I definitely think this Bare Escentuals Classic Rock Flawless Diamond Collection is a set Bare Escentuals fans will love.
Fans of the Bare Escentuals Buxom Lips lipgloss will be happy to know that the line up is expanding. Bare Escentuals is now adding a new clear plumping lip gloss named Krystal to the Buxom Lips collection. However, it’s only available at Sephora and it’s an exclusive Beauty Insider program product. We tried this product back in February and we liked what we saw. It’s even better now that we can use our own lip color and just add shine with Buxom Lips.
Yet another reason why I love this program so much, sneak peeks and exclusive products that you can’t find anywhere else. You can register to be a Sephora Beauty Insider here.
I’ve started using Bare Escentuals more often now and one thing I’ve come to realize is that I’d love a more portable solution for this product so I can touch up as needed. While it doesn’t have the portability of Sheer Cover, this Beauty on the Go Deluxe Nordstrom’s Exclusive set peaked my interest. It includes an extra large mineral veil and a refillable mirror compact with a cute little bag. I pre-ordered this item, who knows… maybe I’ll like having the mirror more than having the product already in a brush. You can pre-order this item now.
What smells like yummy cinnamon buns and leaves your lips with a beautiful shine? Bare Escentual’s new Buxom Lips Lipgloss.
The idea behind this lipgloss is that it plumps your lips with a cooling tingle. I didn’t see much of a difference in the fullness of my lips since they seem to be pretty resistant to lip plumping products, so I’ll let that slide but I can definitely feel the tingling. There are other reasons to love this gloss though. For one, I love the colors it comes in, there’s something to like about each one of them. I have developed a strong attachment to Amber, a great peach shade. I’ve been wearing it quite a bit over my beloved lip stains.
It’s consistency is good as well, it’s not so thick that if feels like your lips are stuck together. One thing that surprised me about this product was it’s size. When it comes to lipgloss, I’m so use to seeing skinny little tubes like MAC’s Lipglass. It’s good to see more companies embracing the “bigger is better” notion. Also, I like how my lips feel when I wear this gloss… they feel soft and luscious. Maybe it’s the infusion of antioxidant vitamins A and E that keep lips protected.
