A Sure Bet: By Elizabeth Dehn Skincare

When I first met Elizabeth Dehn, creator of BeautyBets.com, the first thing I noticed was her glowing skin. She looked radiant and healthy. And to give you some context, this was in the middle of winter (a.k.a dry skin season) after we’d both just schlepped it on early morning flights from the Midwest to Los Angeles. If there’s ever a time I look glowing, I can tell you that after a 6am flight cross country is not that time. I didn’t know Elizabeth’s secret then, but now I do — it’s her line of naturally luxe skincare, aptly named By Elizabeth Dehn.

After more than 10 years in the biz, Elizabeth created her own line of skincare using all-natural, nutritious ingredients that deliver for your skin. She calls them “glow-getters” and designed them with all skin types in mind. I’ve got to tell you, I am beyond impressed with these products. They feel good, smell amazing and most importantly, they work.  And it doesn’t hurt that the packaging is so simple and luxe.

Face SprayWe’ll call this my entry point to By Elizabeth Dehn. I love a good mist to revive my skin, and this one, which contains organic essential oils of Melissa and Sweet Orange, infuses skin with antioxidants and helps increase circulation. It smells of a spa with the citrus notes and a trace of Bergamot. You can use this anytime (and believe me, you will…) but I love it as a first step pre-moisturizer. And as a late-morning pick-me-up and a pre-workout blast of energy….told ya so.

The SerumMy fixation with oils is at an all-time high, so naturally Elizabeth’s Serum was a home run product for me. The second this hit my skin, I could feel a glow coming on. Seriously, that’s not an exaggeration. The Serum contains a blend of plant oils and essential fatty acids to restore moisture and also Vitamin C and E to heal and protect skin. I massage this into my skin before bed and wake up with smoother, brighter skin. But like all of her products, this can be used over makeup for a dewy glow or blast of moisture when you need it most. I should also mention it smells intoxicatingly like a rose garden in heaven.

Shea Cream – I’ll admit, I started slowly with the Shea Cream. Initially, I slathered onto my cuticles (and oh my word, you need to do this too – my cuticles have never been so smooth). Then, I dabbed it around my nose and all my dryness went away. Curiosity got the best of me and I pressed it all over my face one night. And thank goodness I did. I’m pretty sure it healed a blemish in my sleep and my skin looked so hydrated and felt really smooth the next morning. Unlike most moisturizers, this contains no water and no filler. As a result, the texture is so interesting – like spongy frosting. It’s packed with Vitamin A, Shea Butter, Rosehip Seed Oil and other good-for-your skin ingredients. You too might be freaked out at first putting this on your face, but it’s actually a natural healer for acne, eczema, sunburn and other skin irritations. It doesn’t clog your pores, so for the sake of your skin, take the plunge. Or maybe take the “pat” – this is best pressed into your skin softly. Just the tiniest amount needed.

By Elizabeth Dehn is sold online, and you can read all about this skincare trio and her best Beauty Bets on her blog.

      Merlina,

I think that this is a quality line of natural skincare. I think she pulled some very powerful ingredients from nature and blended them in a way that makes these natural skin healers. That’s what struck me!

  2. I am really enjoying natural skincare lines at the moment. I do feel they do better for my skin. This line looks lovely, will definitely be checking it out. Thanks!
