Our recap of the Best of 2010 continues with our favorite nail polishes of 2010. We were all over the board last year — glitters, smooth neutrals, bold colors, pastels. There were many amazing polishes and collections, and here are the ones that stood out the most to us.
Essie’s Resort Collection transported us to a five-star resort in the tropics with shades like “Turquoise and Caicos” and “Lapis of Luxury.” We loved every single one of these polishes, and the inclusion of the cement-like neutral Playa Del Platinum was like the tie that binds.
Carla went through a major glitter phase last year that culminated with Deborah Lippman’s All That Jazz trio. This is truly how you do glitter! These are like a constant party on the nails, and were very fun to wear.
The brights and creamy pastels in China Glaze’s Up & Away collection were amazing. There was literally something for everyone, and we found we liked every shade. I loved the periwinkle Light As Air and Carla was smitten with Peachy Keen, a bold nectar.
Oh Chanel Particuliere. The shade that all “greiges” will forever be compared to. Particuliere was a legendary nail polish in 2010, and we think it was completely worthy of all the attention.
Butter London’s fall line-up really evoked the best the season has to offer. Love it or hate it, Bumster, the mustard yellow, so belongs in a fall collection. We happened to love it! Along with every other shade — especially All Hail McQueen (now All Hail the Queen if you’re looking for it).
