It’s no secret that Laurie and I both love anything that highlights and gives the skin a glow so it is no surprise that we’re both crazy about Benefit’s Girl Meets Pearl. The packaging may look like a relative of their That Girl primer but this product is all luminizer. At first glance I was instantly reminded of NARS Orgasm Illuminator. I’m not sure why Moon Beam or High Beam did not come to mind but this is a rose gold shade that is just gorgeous on the skin, not a peach like Orgasm.
From left to right: Girl Meets Pearl, High Beam and Moon Beam
Compared to Moon Beam and High Beam, I find it to be more natural looking on the skin. It doesn’t have the gold or icey hues the other illuminators have and it just gives skin a nice sheen. You can see an example of that below. Not overly shimmery, right? Girl Meets Pearl can be worn both on top and underneath makeup. While it’s lovely on top of makeup, I’ve been wearing it underneath my foundation. This way my pores don’t take center stage and it looks like I’m just lit from within… a look I’ll take whenever I can pull it off!
I’m also loving the packaging Benefit chose to go with here. This works much, much better for me than the old school nail polish type packaging for their other luminizers. How about you?
By the way… how cute is this? Benefit High Beam to Go is now available. And did you see the new Her Name Was Glowla set? I picked this up last week and love it, it may just inspire me to post a look with it.
