Just Another Mani Monday: Chanel Les Khakis de Chanel Collection

This week’s Just Another Mani Monday is brought to you by the letter C… that is C for Chanel. Just like everyone else, I practically drooled over the Les Khakis de Chanel collection. It sold out in stores but if you were able to pick up a bottle or two while they were available in stores, you’re one of the lucky ones. 🙂

The shade above is Khaki Rose, my favorite from the collection. I’m normally not a brown girl but this shade is perfect for me to venture into brown territory without feeling like its vampy. The touch pink in it adds a little something, something and I think it just looks oh so chic on shorter nails. I’m attending a media event for Kim Kardashian on Friday and this shade is exactly what I need for the event. I wonder if Kim will be wearing OPI’s My Private Jet…

We are in the process of making some changes around Product Girl. We’re moving to a new host to try and resolve the problem with the errors we have run into recently. If you’re reading this post, that means you are reading Product Girl on its new server.

We will also be making some changes to the design in an attempt to clean it up and make it less cluttered, I hope you’ll like it. Until that happens, things make look a little odd for awhile but I am working on changing that so please bear with us.

In the meantime, if you notice anything, please feel free to holler and let me know. I hope things are speedier on this new server. If not, please do tell me. I need to know these kinds of things. 🙂

Beauty VIP of the Week: Tarte fRxtion

Tarte’s fRxtion is probably one of the most functional beauty products I own. It’s one part natural sugar exfoliator and one part moisturizing lip balm, and even comes with its own mirror. I threw this in my purse earlier this week and use it constantly on the go. The dry fall (almost winter!) air takes its toll on my lips and the last thing I want to do is reapply my lipstick or gloss over the flakies.

We’ve raved of this product before, and that’s with good reason. It’s a tried and true beauty VIP!

Ten or Less Thursday: Boscia Peppermint Blotting Linens

I was sitting here at my desk thinking “come on 4 o’clock!” so I could get out of here and make my way to Sephora so I can use my VIB 20% off coupon and suddenly remember it is Thursday! And we didn’t have a Ten or Less item up. Well here it is… Boscia’s Peppermint Blotting Linens.

Normally these are $10 but right now Sephora has them on sale for only $5 this week, lower than some of its drugstore counterparts. I have a ton of Boscia’s blotting linens in different scents all over the place; work, car and home but I do not have peppermint, that is going in my cart for sure with the VIB sale going on.

How about you? Are you picking these up?

New! Sue Devitt Golden Triangle Collection

The new Sue Devitt Golden Triangle collection is inspired by Sue’s own travels to Northern Thailand, Laos and Myanmar. The subtle diffusion of beautiful golden light on green bamboo, the seductive bronze and charcoal hues of Buddhist temples or the transporting scent of early-morning mist rising from the forest all play a part in this collection. It features a new eye-defining concept and the first-ever well-being fragrance created exclusively by Sue Devitt.

Golden Triangle Eye, Lip & Cheek Highlighter –$22 – an all purpose gel formula highlighter with light reflective properties that blends effortlessly to create accents for eyes, lips and cheeks. The mystic golden-neutral shade is universally flattering and perfect for highlighting all over.

Golden Triange Eye Intensifier Pencil– $22 – this new green black shade is inspired by the misty bamboo forests of Northern Thailand. Shades Chiang Mai (gun metal), and Laos (brown pearl) are also part of this collection.

Lip Enhancing Gloss in Golden Triangle – $22 – this limited edition golden gloss gives lips a sheer wash of color and is formulated with hyaluronic acid to smooth out the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, menthol crystals to create fuller lips and orchid extract to protect and moisturize lips.

Lash Intensifier Treatment & Lengthening Mascara – $49 – this mascara has peptide conditioners on one end and algae-fortified mascara formulation on the other. It comes in three shades: Pointe-Noire (black), Kenya (dark brown), and Golden Triangle (green black). When used in tandem as a treatment application in the evening and mascara during the day, claims to promote thicker and longer lashes by 63%.

Silky Eye Shadow – $18 – this pigment rich and crease-resistant formula contains ingredients to hydrate and help protect the delicate eye area environmental pollutants while long-lasting coverage.

Golden Temple Effusion Eau de Toilette – $65 – this Barney’s exclusive scent is inspired by the early-morning mist rising from Thailand’s bamboo forests, a deeply soulful experience that leaves the skin exotically scented. It contains notes of Deep Rainforest Woods, Wild Lily and Exotic Red Berries and is designed to be applied on the pulse points to encourage the flow of chi, or life force, a method Sue developed with an Asian healing ritualist, for an absolute feeling of balance and well-being. Also, a percentage of the proceeds will be donated to Blue Planet Network to help bring safe drinking water to Southeast Asia’s Golden Triangle region.

Naturally, the highlighter fiend in me wants to try the new Eye, Lip and Cheek highlighter. I’ve been stalking my local Ulta’s display for the collection to arrive but no luck yet. How about you? Do you have a Golden Triangle sighting? If so, you have to tell me all about it in the comments.

New! Cargo Essential Palette in Smokey Grey

I love what Cargo has done with their Essential Palettes. They have released themed palettes for the last few seasons, it is no longer about the neutral eye, it’s now about the well coordinated eye. This past summer they released their Bronze palette (you can find a swatch of it here, it is gorgeous!) and now they have released their Cargo Essential Palette in Smokey Grey.

With each eyeshadow labeled for placement, you have a practically goof-proof smokey eye! This retails for $32.00 and you can find it at Ulta.

NARS Sex Appeal Blush and Melusine Duo Eyeshadow

NARS Holiday 2010 collection is shaping up to be one of my favorite NARS launches this year. I’ve been especially smitten with two items: Sex Appeal Blush and Melusine Duo Eyeshadow.

Sex Appeal Blush, as you can see, is a light pinky-peach matte. It’s got some chalkiness to it, but on my cheeks it glows.

Melusine is just perfection. The silvery pewter shade is so creamy and glamorous — and incredibly easy to wear. It works beautifully alone with other colors or even just some black eyeliner (winged out adds a nice touch!), but it is a perfect mate for the matte purple shadow it shares a case with. NARS purple eyeshadow duos are actually becoming a holiday beauty tradition for me of sorts. Last year, Eurydice wowed me and prior to that it was Jolie Poupee. I’m happy to keep this tradition going!

Also, my swatch of Sex Appeal is actually pretty invisible on my hand — appearing lighter than my skin. I don’t know how to explain the transformation, but on my cheeks, over foundation or a cream highlighter, it is peachy pink perfection. I think that lighter skin tones are the ones that can pull it off, so if you fit that category it’s worth checking out.

Anyone else pick up any NARS holiday items? Let us know!

Just Another Mani Monday: Rescue Beauty Lounge Om

During the great Rescue Beauty Lounge sale of 2010, I took the opportunity to order almost all of the Rescue Beauty Lounge shades I wanted to try. Did you pick up any shades during the sale? Which ones?

One of the shades I picked up was Om. I’m more of a red and greige gal, but for some reason this shade just spoke to me. I gave it a try and I’m so glad that I did because this has turned out to be my favorite shade from my order. Om is a gorgeous, rich coral pink creme shade and there’s no glitter in this shade whatsoever. Two coats and it is perfection. Om reminds of me of health and warmth, like the rosy glow in your cheeks after you’ve been out in the cold. This is one shade I know I will be ordering over and over again.
