I wish I had known about this earlier… I was hoping it would happen and low and behold, it has. From now until tomorrow, you can get 20% off all Deborah Lippmann products with any purchase of $30 and over. All you need to do is use code TURKEY20 during checkout.
If you’re looking for suggestions, I present Boom Boom Pow to you, one of Deborah Lippmann’s new holiday shades. It is gorgeous and looks amazing over many a nail polish shade. What are you ordering?
Dior released one heck of a holiday collection this year, and what really caught my eye was the Five Golds Eyeshadow Palette. This is what classic holiday beauty is all about! These shadows are shimmering, perhaps a tad glittery (in a sophisticated way though!) and elegant.
The two shades that I am in love with are the gold and coppery-bronze shimmers. They apply beautifully and light up my blue eyes in a way that only those two colors can. I find that the ivory/light gold (far left swatched) is a great top coat for the lids for when you want a little sparkle. It’s also very pretty on its own with tons of mascara and black eyeliner packed along the lashline.
Let us know your thoughts on this holiday palette stunner. How would you wear it — or how do you, if you snatched this up as well?
Ever since I turned 30, one of the things I’ve started doing is going over my skin obsessively looking for those tell-tale signs of aging. Luckily I have not found much but I was looking in the wrong place so I started paying attention to my hair. I was losing more and more of it as I brushed and washed it. I didn’t do anything about it though, the women in my family have all been blessed with lots of thick hair so I figured I still had plenty of hair.
BeautyBloggers.org is the collaboration of almost 50 different beauty bloggers and brands. Everyone involved has donated some highly coveted goodies to raise money to give the most effective donation we can give to any charity this holiday – cash. The money raised from the over 100 items being auctioned from now until Monday, December 20th will be donated directly to Doctors Without Borders.
We’re raising money for Doctors Without Borders because women are always disproportionately affected in any disaster. This organization is committed to bringing quality medical care to people in crisis, regardless of race, religion, or political affiliation. They treat rape victims in Papua New Guinea; they make sure women don’t die in childbirth in Pakistan; they helped flood victims in Mexico and earthquake victims in Haiti. They work in 65 countries around the world, and your donation will make an immediate impact. Click here to learn more about MSF.
I’ve donated some goodies from Orlane for the auction so stay tuned for links to the items when they go live. Does the sight of 15 full-sized Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliners get you excited? We definitely lit up when we first saw this photo! Urban Decay is turning 15 in 2011, and to celebrate, is releasing this set of 15 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils. All are stamped with “UD15” and the set includes six new shades and pretty much all of our favorites! The new shades sound thrilling, a few include Asphyxia, Stray Dog and Perversion — a blacker-than-Zero-black.
But alas, better luck next time, or year, as this sold out instantly this morning when Urban Decay unveiled it for Cyber Monday and won’t be available again until January 2011. It retails for $92, which is incredible given everything together would actually cost $264.
Were you one of the lucky ones that seized this opportunity or are you like us and are anxiously awaiting its return?!
Happy (cyber) Monday all! I’m definitely feeling like today is a Monday, feeling like I may have a bit of a Thanksgiving hangover. All of that turkey, traveling and shopping has really worn me out. While visiting my in-laws, I did take some time to go get a manicure and went with Zoya Kelly. I’m always happy to find Zoya salons, as it seems like most I frequent regularly don’t always carry the line. It was a great escape from family time and I absolutely love this color!
In full sunlight, you can see the polish looks a little dark but it’s actually very unique and the perfect blue/purple/grey. There’s a reason that this polish is hard to find in-stores because it’s been selling out everywhere! Actually, when I was putting on my Tarte Clean Slate primer this morning, I noticed that the polish was a near match to the Tarte purple.
What’s everyone else wearing on their nails this week? Let us know!
I have to admit that until I saw Nicki Minaj at the MTV VMA’s back in September, I had no idea who she was and it wasn’t until a few weeks ago that I even heard her music. Now her Dungeon Dragon track is on my gym playlist, a little angst is good at the gym! Now I am obsessed with her… she’s the hip hop Lady Gaga. It is only fitting that MAC scooped her up and worked with her to release their new Pink Friday lipstick.
This limited edition lipstick is only on sale for the next four Fridays starting November 26th. This bright and creamy pink satin formula lipstick is being introduced to celebrate Nicki’s debut album Pink Friday. Nicki says, “MAC’s Pink Nouveau was my favorite lipstick for years, but now it’s all about Pink Friday!”

This year for Thanksgiving, some of my beauty blogging friends and I are giving back to women in our local domestic violence shelters. What better way to put all those unused beauty products to good use? Sometimes it is hard to give back during the holidays but giving is not always about money. Giving back can be volunteering a few hours of your time, donating to your local food bank or in this case, donating unused beauty products to women affected by domestic violence.
I spent some time going through all the unused beauty products in my home and I found of lot of items to donate to Seattle’s New Beginnings shelter. We all know the power of a good lipstick or a good perfume, it is enough to lift your spirits and brighten your day. When I think of the women who may receive the products I’m donating and how they might feel using them for however brief that moment it may be, it makes me happy that I can do this for them.
Here’s a list of my beauty blogging friends that are dropping off their own boxes of love to domestic violence shelters this Thanksgiving:

Sorry for the lack of updates on Product Girl lately. On Friday, our hosting company Dreamhost experienced an issue with the hard drive Product Girl’s data is housed on. This has causes the downtime we have been experiencing since then. Dreamhost has been in the process of migrating the data to a new hard drive but we have still experienced some bouts of downtime since then. We may be in the clear now since we’ve been back online since yesterday afternoon but our host has yet to confirm that the move is complete. Until then, don’t be surprised if you try to visit us and can’t reach us but we’ll be back in action soon!
