We Heart Stila: New Pro Artist Palette

We Heart Stila this week and in keeping with our theme, I wanted to tell you about my new eyeshadow obsession. I am all about the new Stila Pro Artist palette right now… I kid you not. This palette includes three of Stila’s best selling eyeshadows… yes, this includes Kitten, the infamous eyeshadow shade that spawned the glosses and smudge pots.  It also includes three new gorgeous shades for you to play with.

From Top to Bottom, Left to Right: Lucky, Moxie, Prize, Sparkle, Kitten and Grand

I am loving this palette for summer. The new Stila Pro Artist palette is also a great way to try some of Stila’s eyeshadow staples. Stila’s eyeshadows are solid, they are so soft and well pigmented with a satin finish. The first 4 shades can work for everyday wear then the other 2 shades give you some flexibility. The gorgeous turquoise and purple shades let you play with the palette and be a little bolder. Of course, Kitten is a definite asset in this palette but I think the real star of the show is the new Grand eyeshadow. The satin taupe eyeshadow is just gorgeous… a little bit of this in the crease and you are set!

By the way! This weekend I’m heading to New York for the Makeup Show and on Saturday, I’m interviewing the lovely and talented Sarah Lucero, Stila’s celebrity makeup artist. Have a question for Sarah? Leave a comment and you may see her answer your question in my upcoming interview.

My Kind of Crazy: Crazylibellule and the Poppies Les Garçonnes Collection

Crazylibellule and the Poppies had me at hello with these solid perfumes from the Les Garçonnes collection, each one paying tribute to modern, audacious, enthusiastic, seductive and independent women. These so called “crazy sticks” are exactly the kind of crazy I’m looking for in a solid perfume. I’ve been testing Pompom Gardenia and Jeanne Voyage and have to say, they’re like my gal pals now. They go everywhere with me (in my purse) and are there for me in a pinch (or a push).

Here’s the back story on my go-to gals.

Pompom Gardenia: “She wears a most peculiar dress, covered with pompoms. Something quite insolent, and resolutely daring. Her singularity electrifies the bar, our glasses stand forgotten. So elusive.” Clearly she’s the seductress and her fragrance is right on target with lime zest and pulp to further enhance the Gardenia and white flowers warmed with honey-sweetened Virginia tobacco.

Jeanne Voyage:  “Travel the world, getting drunk on art. A passion for exception. The suave odor of unfastened chests crammed with wonders, the smell of somewhere else, a few flowers laid… a sumptuous Italian blue, and sketches torn from a travel diary…” She’s the classy artsy type, and the perfume is exactly that with bergamot, a powdered veil of Iris and java nutmeg.

Crazylibellule and the Poppies has mastered making fragrances that smell fabulous and that are fun. I totally love these “crazy sticks.” You can find them online at Beautyhabit for $16.

We Heart Stila: New Rasberry Crush Lip & Cheek Stain

Right now Stila is my lip stain pusher… they keeping tempting me with new stains and now they added a new member to the Crush family and it’s called Raspberry Crush Lip & Cheek Stain.

Like it’s Yumberry and Mango sisters, this new stain is a little on the opaque side with a pinch of shimmer. It is great on the cheeks. It blends well and just a little bit gives skin a gorgeous flush like you were suddenly blushing or just went for a run. Then on lips it is completely buildable and beautifully vibrant. Out of all of the Crush Lip and Cheek Stains I have tried from Stila, this one gives you more coverage like a lipstick than any other has.

The Raspberry Crush shade is gorgeous for summer. This swatch here should give you an idea of just how vibrant this shade is, we are completely in love with here at Product Girl. Its bright pink jewel tone will look absolutely amazing on tan summer skin and will warm up even the fairest skin.

Are you crushing on the new Stila Raspberry Crush Lip and Cheek stain? You can find it in stores and online now.

We Heart Stila: Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner

The We Heart series continues here at Product Girl, and this week is all about Stila. We’ve always had a place in our heart for this beauty brand and have been completely enamored with what they’ve been doing recently. We’ll be highlighting some of our favorite Stila products and reviewing the new products released with Stila’s summer collection. Up first: the new Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liners.

Stila Smudge Pots are coveted for a reason. They’re incredibly long-lasting, unique colors and more than just a cream liner – they’re beautiful cream shadows as well (hello, every.single.Barbie.smudge.pot and Kitten!)  So it’s safe to say that when we heard they were coming out in stick form, we got extremely excited. Perhaps even a little giddy!  And we were not disappointed one bit – the Stila Smudge Sticks are just as amazing as you would expect.

From Top to Bottom: Black (side), Moray, Silver Dollar, Koi, Blue Ribbon, Peacock and Lionfish

As you can see from the picture, they come in a thin tube and are retractable. The best part about these is that you can use them a few ways - a precise line or swiped and smudged all over the lid. Every single color is multi-dimensional with sparkle. They are so vibrant! I purchased the “Blue Ribbon” color, which is the navy liner, described as a slate blue sheen. It wears like a champ and only smudges if you want it to – you have about 10 seconds to work with it upon application. As Carla would say, it’s dabomb.com. We know there are so many liners out there, but believe us when we say these are special. They are a must-have, and truly, we must have them all.

Has anyone tried these out yet? Let us know if you have and if you heart them as well!

Les Pop-Up de Chanel for summer is so bright you need your shades! Which is why this promo picture is so perfect, don’t you think? This collection is filled with vibrant brights but also balanced with some soft peachy pinks and bronzers.  And the nail polishes! So stunning!

This is one of those summer collection that totally reads summer and I love it for that. I’m also obsessed with most of the lip products. The gloss fluos, while super sheer, are so fun and bright – and so smooth on the lips. I’m in love with Laser – the neon pink! Also, I can say with authority that the Bikini Peach glossimer is in the running for best glossimer of all time. That’s a must-have, if you are debating!

What caught your eye from Chanel summer? Let us know if you’ve had a chance to check this out at counters.

Disclosure: We received samples of the fluo glosses from this collection.

Summer Beauty: Giorgio Armani Bronze Mediterranean Palette

Giorgio Armani’s Bronze Mediterranean palette for summer is simply gorgeous. It’s a double decker bronzer and eyeshadow palette  featuring a classic twist on summer. Aqua blue, shimmery browns and stunning shades of green, specifically sea and khaki. At $85, this certainly carries a steep price tag, but we tend to think it could be a worthy splurge.

First up, the bronzer. At first glance I thought it might be too dark for my fair skin, but it translated perfectly on the skin. It feels silky to the touch and has the right amount of pigment that you get the color without overdoing it. It looks very chocolately in the pan, but it’s a golden color on the face and has slight orange undertones. It’s very pretty!

As for the eyeshadows, they are incredibly smooth and shimmery. I’m in love with all of these colors – especially the khaki olive gold. I’ve actually been using this palette a ton for the past few weeks, but in a more linear way. I’ve been using the eye shadows individually which is often counterproductive with palettes. But I actually think it speaks to the quality here – there is no throwaway shade in here! Not a single one, they’re all amazing.

Armani’s Bronze Mediterranean palette should be hitting counters soon, and is currently available on their web site. Interested to hear your thoughts. Do you think it’s worth the splurge?

We Love Nars: Jet Setter Eye Kit

We’re wrapping up our We Love Nars series today with a glimpse at the new Jet Setter Eye Kit. Lately, Nars has seriously been impressing us with its value sets and palettes. Not only do we love them for ourselves, they’re great gifts. We’ve got the Nars So Famous set currently at Sephora and the Some Like it Hot set – and now the Jet Setter Eye Kit!

Featuring Nars eyelash curler, Nuits Blanches Eyeliner Stylo and Larger Than Life Volumizing Mascara, this set is super sleek! What woman wouldn’t be so happy to get this as a gift? I also will say, there are some great gifts in the permanent line. I recently got a girlfriend Orgasm lip gloss for her bachelorette party and she’s also heading to Belize for her honeymoon, she you can be sure I’ll be equipping her with that shade of lip gloss as well.

We had a good time highlighting some of the best of Nars. If you didn’t catch any of our posts the first time around, here’s a recap of what we covered!

Next week will be focusing on a new brand so stay tuned!

We Heart Nars: New Pro Prime Face Prep and Eyeshadow Base

A few weeks ago we declared our love for Nars with a week of product picks and new products from the brand. Due to a bout of Vertigo, I wasn’t able to finish out the week but we’re picking up right where we left off. Today we’re taking a look at the new Pro Prime line. Good makeup needs a good base and that’s what these new products are all about.

First up is the Pro Prime Skin Smoothing Face Prep. I got to see this primer in action back in February during Fashion Week and I was definitely intrigued with what I saw. The product was applied to the back of one hand and then we saw the two hands side by side. Its line filling powers were amazing. The one with the primer on it looked younger and as if had never put in a days work in all its life. This had me excited for what it could do for my pores. That’s not its only use though. You can also use it throughout the day to combat shine.

Now say hello to the new Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base. This new eyeshadow primer works with eye powder and cream based eyeshadows to keep color locked in all day long. The formula dries is fortified with deep-sea and antioxidant rice extracts to keep eyelids smooth, it also dries on contact and helps intensify pigment. I haven’t had a chance to try the formula out myself but I’ve heard it is pretty long lasting so that definitely peaks my curiosity. We’ll let you know when that happens.

Have you tried the new Nars Pro Prime primers? What did you think? Tell us all about it in the comments.

Our Mother's Day Gift Picks

Have you finished your Mother’s Day shopping yet? I am a last minute shopper…unfortunately. I tell myself every year that I will not wait until a few days before to get my mother a gift but it always turns out the same. And it’s the same for practically everything else in my life. I’m a last minute gal. Since I’m still browsing for my mama’s gift, we thought we would show you some of our picks for Mother’s Day.

Philosophy Field of Flowers Set – $35 – My mom is a Philosophy gal. Every time I visit, I find something new in the house from Philosophy. I swear, she has practically every Amazing Grace product ever made, not that I mind the Amazing Grace hand soap and air freshener in the guest bathroom. Although I think it may be time to introduce her to a new scent from Philosophy, one that will be great for spring and summer. This set was created exclusively for Mother’s Day and it includes an 8oz. body lotion and a 2oz. spray fragrance. Field of Flowers is so fresh and airy that you’ll love smelling this on mom.

Stila Mother’s Day Gift Set – $38 – I like this set so much that I want it for myself but my skin needs a little more than a tinted moisturizer. My mom’s skin, on the other hand, does not. Her skin is gorgeous and she barely wears any makeup. This set could be my way of coaxing her into wearing a little more. This set includes a 1oz. Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer, a Lip Glaze in Mayberry (a shade my mom would definitely approve of), an Eye Shadow Trio in Anya (soft peach shimmer/ soft brown/ deep purple shimmer) and a sample of Stila’s new One Step PrimeColor in Per Suede (dusty rose)… I might have to keep that for myself.

Jurlique Roses Gift Set – $45 – My mom likes to store hand cream all over the place and I don’t blame her, a gal’s got to keep her hands soft but I have to admit, I’m not a fan of the ones she has chosen. This is a great time to introduce her to one of my favorite hand creams ever. You know Jurlique makes on of the best hand creams around, right? This set comes with a Rose Hand Cream and Love Balm, a product I’ve always been curious about. Maybe she won’t mind me trying it when I come over to visit. ;)

Bobbi Brown Antigua Face Palette – $55 – This Bloomingdale’s exclusive palette would be perfect for any gal, not just mom. For the most part, the women in my family are not big fans of bronzers but this palette’s Illuminating Bronzer would be perfect way to start. The shades in this palette include Navajo Eye Shadow, Oat Eye Shadow, Caviar Eye Shadow, Antigua Illuminating Bronzer, Kitten Creamy Lip Color, Pink Ballet Creamy Lip Color and Azalea Metallic Lip Color. I think I’m starting to develop feelings for this Antigua Illuminating Bronzer…

Suki Mother’s Day Collection – $60 – If your mom is looking for a more eco-friendly option for her skincare routine, you need to introduce her to Suki, the line is amazing. I’m partial to her Lemongrass Cleanser. The Mother’s Day Collection combines her skincare with her makeup. It includes her Moisture-rich Cleansing Lotion, Concentrated Nourishing Toner, Bio-C 10% Formula Face Serum, Facial Lift Ultimate Firming Cream, Velvet Moisturizing Cream and a Luscious Lips Berry Cream Trio all in an 100% organic cotton sateen white zip case.

Kiehl’s Discovery Treatments – $98 – I’ve been experimenting with a Kiehl’s regimen lately and one of my new favorite products is the Midnight Recovery Concentrate. I think my mom needs to get involved with it too and this is the perfect Mother’s Day set for her too. She loves lavender a little too much so the Midnight Recovery Concentrate and the Lavenday Body Scrub are right up her alley. This set also includes the Powerful Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate and a sample of their Micro-Dermabrasion cream.

What are your picks for Mother’s Day? Let us know in the comments.
