I’m an addict – a lip gloss addict. While I love all beauty products, lip products are my true weakness, especially lip gloss! So you can betcha bottom dollar that I’ve tried every single lip gloss on the market out there. Some are too dry, too sticky, too glossy (is that possible? YES), and then some are juuuust right, until some lame manufacturer decides to discontinue your favorite shade (I’m looking at you, Dior. Bring back #614, k thx!).
Anyhow, Korres, whose Pomegranate Moisturizer is the business, came out with the Cherry Full Color Gloss line sometime last summer. I remember passing through a Sephora, trying it, then searching high and low to find it since I didn’t take note of the name back then (rookie mistake!).
It’s paraben and sulfate free, which is very important; contains Vitamin C and Vitamin E to keep lips looking fresh and moisturized, and best of all – it tastes and smells yummy with it’s cherry scent, isn’t sticky or drying, and looks GORGEOUS on. It’s provides a long-lasting sheer pop of color – my favorite colors are Orange 45 (sheer coral orange) and Coral 45 (sheer golden coral) – the most perfect summer colors ever!
To score even more, scope out the Korres Love Your Lips Collection, which includes 3 full size Cherry Full Color Glosses in Light Pink 11 (sheer milky pink), Beige Pink 32 (pink champagne shimmer) and Nude 33 (sheer pinky beige) and a yummy Lip Butter in Pomegranate (sheer coral).
If the kit isn’t your thing, these recessionista faves are only $16 each, so they won’t break the bank!
Are you a Philosophy girl? I don’t know about you but I definitely am, I’m a big fan of their fragrances. I especially love Amazing Grace and Pure Grace, they are my “pick me up” fragrances. Now Philosophy has introduced their new fragrance “Unconditional Love“.
It’s you’re looking for something a little sweeter than the other Grace fragrances, give Philosophy’s Unconditional Love a try. The fragrance features black currant as the heart, complimented with bulgarian rose and white lily then the dry down features woody notes with a cashmere vanilla base. It all comes together rather nicely. I can’t really detect the rose and lily notes in the fragrance but the black currant is very prominent here. The end result is a sweet, musky fragrance.
On their own, the staying power of the Unconditional Love 3-in-1 shower gel and the Unconditional Love spray leaves a little to be desired but it’s the same as with their other fragrances. It’s really when you layer the fragrance with the Unconditional Love body lotion that you really achieve a long lasting, lingering scent. I can’t wait until Philosophy starts putting out more products in this fragrance collection for even more layering!
I haven’t tried a drugstore brand lipstick in a long time and Max Factor’s Vivid Impact Lip Color made me remember why I should pay more attention to drugstore brands.
With a name like Vivid Impact, you expect the lipstick you are trying to be highly pigmented color color. I was happy to see that this was the case just as I expected. The rich color rivals that of the big department store brands. I tried Max Factor’s Vivid Impact Lipstick in Pinup Pink and even though it appeared to be more on the lavender side on my lips, the color was solid just as I hoped it would be. The lipstick formula itself was very smooth and creamy, it glided on and didn’t dry out my lips at all. I also liked that it left a subtle shine on lips, I didn’t want to ruin it by applying my current favorite gloss with it’s doe foot applicator.
Next time I’m at my local drugstore, I’ll be checking out the other shades in the line. Have you tried this product? Tell us what you think about it in the comments.

I haven’t had a chance to test out everything yet but I’m really excited to finally try a Lisa Hoffman product. What I have tried is the Kerstin Florian Aromatherapy Neroli Water and I have been loving it so far. I’ve been keeping it in my bag so I have it with me wherever I go. I just take it out and spray a little on my face. It’s so refreshing, it calms me down a bit and I swear it makes my skin feel smoother. I hope my little spray bottle of Evian doesn’t mind that it’s getting replaced!

Even though we’re now into spring, it doesn’t mean you have to put your warmer scents away… besides, there’s still a little chill in the air in some places.
That’s where Kenzo’s KenzoAmour Le Parfum comes in. You may be thinking… “Hmm, that looks just like that other Kenzo perfume!” Yeah, it does but this one is different. While the bottle’s shape remains the same, it’s color is inspired by temples in SE Asia and features ingredients coveted in the region. This version is richer and spicier than the previous version making it a great woody oriental fragrance.
I found the incense and patchouili notes to be more prominent here. This makes the original seem much sweeter and powdery than this newer version in comparison. I use to think that the original was as warm as I wanted to go but now I know I can go warmer.
Kenzo’s KenzoAmour Le Parfum still shares some of the same notes as the original such as the rice steam top note, frangipani flower middle note and vanilla base note. It also adds some new notes to the mix such as a top note of incense, amber and patchouli to the middle and benzoin balm as a base.
If you’re looking for a fragrance that’s warmer and a little more intense, give this one a try. For me, my favorite Kenzo fragrances are florals but I’m to have tried this one, it’s gotten me out of my perfume rut.
We’ll be back with more on Kenzo’s new fragrances next week!

Have I told you that I love Kate Somerville? No? Well, I do. Her line is simply amazing and now there’s another new addition to it, her Somer360 Tanning Towelettes.
I’m not really a tanning person, I embrace my paleness :), but I am now tempted to try with these new Somer360 Tanning Towelettes. They claim give a quick and streak free application producing a natural looking glow within 2 to 4 hours.
Have you tried this? What’s your take on this?
Looking to add a little bit of bling to your shower routine? Then give La Mer’s Body Refiner a try. This product actually contains over one and a half carats of diamond dust!
With that in mind, I expected this product to be a little abrasive but what I found was the exact opposite. The grains in this product are not harsh at all, they gently exfoliate the skin and the longer you work the product into your body, those grains begin to dissolve. La Mer’s Body Refiner left my skin smooth and moisturized enough that I was able to skip moisturizer for the day. And the smell, oh the smell…just wait until you smell this. It’s spring in a bottle!
