Celebrity makeup artist Tina Turnbow worked with the lovely Mary Louise Parker for her red carpet look for the Golden Globes with products from Tarte.
Here’s what she used:
Stay tuned for a look at Tarte’s new products for spring!
Makeup artist Mai Quynh worked with HBO’s Big Love actress Ginnifer Goodwin for her red carpet look. Ginnifer normally appears very clean and fresh when on Big Love but last night she wore a softer smokey eye with soft lips.
Here’s how Mai achieved this look:
“Since Ginnifer’s hair was pulled back into a chignon, my inspiration for her look was an old Prada ad. On her eyelids I swept on a blend of Mark I-Mark Custom Pick Eye Shadows in Wink Wink and Corset from the lashline and blended it into the crease. I used the same shades to line the bottom of her eyes, and then coated her eyelashes with Mark Make It Big Lash Plumping Mascara in Raven.”
Blend Mark Just Pinched Instant Blush Tint in Nude on the apple of cheeks.
Apply Mark Dew Drenched Moisturlicious Lip Color in Mist.
Mai Quynh also did Miley Cyrus’s red carpet look for the Golden Globes. Check out here look here.
Jenna Fischer looked gorgeous last night! With the help of makeup artist Brett Freedman she stunned everyone with her sexiest look yet. He gave Jenna a more vivid glam look. Here’s what he used:
Foundation: LORAC Oil Free Powder Foundation in #02 (light)
Loose Powder: * magic by Prescriptives in Deep Translucent. (It has a gorgeous light reflective quality with a hint of bronze and photographs beautifully.)
Concealer: Cle De Peau Concealer in Beige.
Blush: Almay Smart Shade Blush in Natural, topped with LORAC Oil Free Illuminating Powder in Luminous on apples of the cheeks.
Eyeshadow: Rimmel Colour Rush Mono Eyeshadow in #330 Azure, applied wet and swept over lids and blended down to a sheer finish.
Liquid Liner: Lancome Laque Liner in Pure Black. Applied a line across the top lash line, thickening and extending out and upward for a dramatic look.
Brow Highlight Shadow: L’Oreal HiP Pigment Powder in Restless. (I love to have a bright, crisp browbone. This champagne hued shadow looks natural yet packs a punch.)
Mascara: VANITYMARK ‘the LASH’ Mascara in Blackest. Three coats were applied to really amp up the top lashline. One full coat on the bottom to give eyes definition without overpowering the top lash line.
Faux Lashes: Kre-At Beauty individual lashes. A mix of the short (on the inner eye) and the long (for outer) in black were used to give an alluring sweep.
Body Bronzer: VANITYMARK Summerskin, applied first to ‘tone down’ the tawny shade so Jenna would have a healthy glow without being too tan. (When you’re showing that much flesh it’s good to have a nice lift of color.)
Lips: Benefit Pocket Pal in Benetint.
Makeup artist Jeffrey Paul created a fresh, sunkissed look with Jouer Cosmetics for Slumdog Millionaire’s Freida Pinto at the Golden Globes. Freida’s radiant natural beauty and flawless skin tone was the inspiration behind Jeffrey Paul’s red carpet look. He wanted Freida’s natural beauty to be the focal point of her overall look so he decided to go with a subtle palette of shimmering pinks, champagne and gold accentuating her flawless skin and her natural glow.
Here’s how to create Freida’s radiant red carpet look:
Eyes: Jeffrey used a thick green liner with flecks of gold. He smudged the Jouer Vert eye definer very close to the lashes to frame her eyes, The soft green color complimented her eye coloring while the gold flecks in the liner tied the look together. For additional color, he added Jouer Amaretto eyeshadow in the crease of the eyelid to add definition and blended with a soft brush. The Jouer black mascara was used on both the top and bottom lashes to show off Freida’s long thick lashes.
Skin: To get Freida’s sunkissed look, Jeffrey mixed together foundation and concealer and only used on key spots to blend outward for a soft effect. The Jouer crème highlighter was used on the brow bone and cheek bones to add additional definition and shimmer.
Lips: Jeffrey finished the look using the Jouer crème highlighter matched with the Jouer monsoon gloss. The golden tone of the highlighter accentuated the natural pink color of her lips while the sheer deep wine gloss was the perfect compliment.
More information has been released about the Barbie Loves Stila collection we mentioned on Friday. New images and more information has come out.
Last week we told you about the new BeautyFix program and this week we’re giving away this quarter’s edition of BeautyFix!
Friday night I stopped off at Sephora to pick up a few things and while I was paying for my purchase, I saw something interesting in a flyer so I just had to bring it home and scan it to show you all:
Urban Decay will be releasing their beloved Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Sin, also one of the most beloved eyeshadows. This new version of the product gives lids a soft champagne shimmer that can be worn alone or used as a base. Look for it to launch this month first to Sephora Beauty Insiders.
Does this mean Eyeshadow Primer Potion in other shades are in our future? Let’s hope so!
First Barbie loved MAC, now she’s going to love Stila. They’ve teamed up with Mattel to release a collection to celebrate Barbie’s 50th anniversary.
Chanel’s releases have become a favorite of mine. I get excited when I see there’s something new from them. This Spring 2009 Makeup Collection will definitely test my newly imposed beauty budget.
I’ve been eying Vendetta every time I’m near a counter. I started biting my nails again around Christmas but this color is so hot that I’m doing everything I can to keep from attacking my nails… I want Vendetta on my nails pronto!
I wasn’t too excited about the Chill and Dame Edna collections MAC released recently (I apologize for not covering them here!) but the new Brunette Blonde Redhead collection definitely peaked my interest. I love the idea behind this collection and that the shades are all inspired by our different hair colors. And of course, the new brushes don’t hurt either…
Here’s what’s included in this collection:
