New Too Faced Galaxy Glam Shadows

Too Faced Galaxy Glam Eye Shadow Last week I told you about Too Faced’s Galaxy Glam Eye Shadows and how gorgeous they are. Too Faced has expanded these eyeshadows by introducing four new shades and they are a great compliment to the existing shades, I already picked up a few more. The new shades are:

Amber Asteroid: dark brown with yellow gold
Cocoa Comet: dark brown with sky blue and peach
Magenta Moon: dark brown with vibrant magenta
Mocha Meteor: dark brown with peach champagne

I picked up Amber Asteroid and Cocoa Comet and I’m absolutely in love with Amber Asteroid. The description Sephora gives is a little misleading but it gives a look an intense golden shimmer… very pretty!

Eye of Intrigue

It took me a long time to cross over into the potted gel eyeliner world but now that I have I must admit I really like them. My newest acquisition is Elizabeth Arden’s Color Intrique Gel Eyeliner.

Elizabeth Arden's Color Intrique Gel Eyeliner There are quite a few reasons why Elizabeth Arden’s Color Intrique Gel Eyeliner appeals to me. First, I like the smoky line it offers though you can get pretty fine with the brush and it has great lasting power. My second reason… this product comes with a brush, most eyeliners don’t come with a brush and if they do they are usually quite shotty. I have to say that I think Liz really put some thought into this brush, it is nicely constructed, compact and cute. Second, the little pot this liner comes in which is not bulky at all. I hate all the deceptive cosmetic packaging you see today, you think you are getting a giant pot but the glass the jar is made of is really like 20 inches thick so you are only getting about an atoms worth of product but paying the price of a 16 ounce tub. This little pot is sweet, exceptionally portable, takes no space in the make-up bag and is not deceptive at all.

I commend Liz on a great product all the way around. My only wish would be that the brush had a cap to keep the brush from getting things dirty. So Liz, if you’re listening…

New and Improved Hope in a Jar

When Philosophy’s new Hope in a Jar with SPF 20 came out, I was pretty excited to try it. I was a fan of the original product and thought I couldn’t go wrong with the new and improved version.

Philosophy Hope in a Jar SPF 20 Unfortunately, this SPF version of Hope in a Jar is not for me. While Philosophy’s Hope in a Jar with SPF 20 looks and smells just like it’s predecessor, it is not exactly the same. The consistency in this moisturizer is a little thicker than before. It seemed fluffy as if this moisturizer was whipped and that didn’t make for a good application for me. I found that it never seemed to fully absorb into my skin and left it feeling pretty greasy right off the bat. I didn’t have this problem before and it wasn’t one I’d put up with for very long. A few days after picking up a full size jar at Sephora, I went back to exchange it for the original Hope in a Jar and some Peter Thomas Roth Instant Mineral SPF 30. I found that worked out much better for me.

For fans of the original Hope in a Jar, I’d suggest asking for a sample of this product before shelling out your $45.
