From the Love Your Look Collection

Benefit recently came out with a Love Your Look Collection, a selection of products that feature “makeup to match your lifestyle”. This collection does the work for you has 3 looks to choose from. The Lana look features light neutral shades, the Gabbi Look features medium neutral shades, and the Betty Look deep neutral shades.

Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner One of the new products in the Love Your Look collection is Benefit’s new Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner, pretty self explanatory title. 🙂 I’m sucker for these types of cream eyeshadows, I picked up two right away. I picked up Flatter Me, a toasted mauve, and Skinny Jeans, a shimmery pewter shade. The cream can be used as an eyeshadow or as a liner. I’ve been using it as an eyeshadow mainly, just taking my ring finger and patting the color on my eyes, making sure to really pack it in. The application can be as sheer or as heavy as you would like, which is how I have been applying it. I’ve used Skinny Jeans this way and created a really good smoky eye. The cream is long lasting and comes in a wide selection of shades, all very pretty and shimmery. I’d love to see some matte shades introduced into the line though.

This collection is a great idea for those of us who need a little hand holding when it comes to selecting a shade. I really like the whole retro feel to the collection as well, something Benefit has down cold. It also features their Sheer Cream Blusher and Silky Finish Lipstick.

A Naturally Radiant Glow

I talked about this product on the podcast yesterday but I like it so much that I thought I’d post about it as well… just in case there are podcast listeners that do not read the blog. I recently tested 4 different self tanning products all at once and on different parts of my body. Yes, I looked lovely. 🙂

Estee Lauder's Naturally Radiant Moisturizer in Golden My goal was to find a self tanning product that I would be comfortable using that provided realistic and gradual color. I found what I was looking for in Estee Lauder’s Naturally Radiant Moisturizer in Golden. While it’s not a full fledged self-tanning product, it’s a moisturizer that does change your skin’s tone.

This product took a bit longer to develop than the other products I tried. However, it’s the one that provided the most natural and gradual results. While it took a week to achieve it’s maximum color, I didn’t mind this at all. It was actually assuring, this reminded me that it was hard to go overboard with this. The same cannot be said for some of the other products I tried. The color was great, exactly as described… Golden. While I did get some blotchiness with the other products, I had an even application with this moisturizer. While it is a bit pricier than drugstore self-tanning products, I think it’s worth it for the results it provides. As soon as the result of the color fades away from the rest of my body, I’m going to get my glow back on all over.
